day 12 Monday 22nd August 2011 Seaworld
After a quick breakfast at the Contempo we caught a cab to Seaworld.
The cab driver gave us his card but in the end we decided to just book him for later on as we knew we wouldnt do too much at Seaworld.
He said we could always ring and change the time if needed.

We had thought about missing Seaworld this holiday as its not my favourite place and Matt said he could skip it.
Luke did agree but changed his mind about 6 months before the holiday.
We didnt buy any tickets in advance as we knew we would get reduced price tickets at the gate.
We asked for 3 tickets and without asking them, they gave us the reduced price tickets- We got half price for Luke and half price for one of us as a carer.
We decided the first thing to do was for Matt to go on Manta as he never managed to do this last time.
It was a 30 minute wait-although i think it turned out to be a 45 minute wait.

Luke and I waited but it was so hot, we decided to look in some shops and view the turtles.
Matt turned up just as Luke and I were searching for a drink.
They sold refillable cups here too-they had lots of different choices and sizes of cups, you just paid approx $1 for a refill.
We all headed for Shark encounter and looked at the fish along the way

We decided to go to the Shamu show-One world.

The Clyde & Seamore show was funny.
It is always so hot inside the stadium, waiting for the show. The metal benches get very hot.
The wheelchairs sit at the front, there are no seats to sit beside the wheelchairs. Matt had to crouch beside Luke, he found it very uncomfortable. I sat on the bench behind.

We decided to take a break and get some Lunch, Matt & Luke got hot dogs and I ordered the BBQ chicken.

After lunch we went on the Journey to Atlantis ride before going to the Penguin encounter

Next we looked in Stingray lagoon before going to view the Dolphins

We looked around a bit more before heading to the shops. We arrived at the pick up area for the cab on time and he was ready and waiting for us.
We booked tonights ADR very late as we didnt decide to use a cab to get to Seaworld until a few days until the holiday.
Whenever we'd been to Seaworld we'd always got back very late due to transport. As we had a lot of time when we got back to the hotel Luke suggested we go for a swim.
We were in the pool for about 25mins before there was a flash of lightening miles away- so they decided to close the pool.
we headed for the lift and it was here we encountered a problem-the convention centre had just finished and eveyone was trying to catch the lift. They got into the lifts at the 2nd floor and when it got to the ground floor it was full and loads more people were trying to get in. After about 10-15 mintues freezing and no one taking pity on us-even though they could see we were wet in our swimming costumes and towels. When the next lift came, I picked Luke up out of his wheelchaichair and squeezed us into the lift-leaving Matt with the wheelchair. I managed to get Luke showered before Matt eventually turned up.
This is the only time ive ever encountered this situation during all our trips at The Contemporary so we've been lucky.
After we all had showered and changed we relaxed in the room.

Our ADR was for 8pm we checked in 15 minutes early and were seated about 20 minutes later.
Our picture from here was good, so we purchased it.
As much as I love breakfast at Chef Mickeys, im not as fond of dinner here. Im not even sure why.
Matt & I ordered cocktails here. Matt= ? Think it was a Rum runner? Nicky=magic star cocktail

Our server here was really slow tonight, we hardly saw her at all.
At least we had a few others to keep us entertained

Eventually our server showed up and asked if we'd like drink refills. I said no, we'll get some from the Contempo.
Matt found this funny! I wasnt being rude, just we'd been empty for ages and were ready to go plus it'd be easier to fill up from the refill station.
We used our dining credits for the meal and paid cash for the cocktails.
As we left, we stopped at the Contempo for drink refills and then went to our room to watch Wishes before bedtime.

Did you like the new Shamu show?
It was ok, I did feel uncomfortable watching them this time.
My husband thought it was harder to see where the whales were in the water, without the trainers in there with them.

Sea World is a place that we tend to do every other visit and after seeing the revised shamu show, I am not sure when we will go again.
Pity about the poor service at Chef Mickey's.....I feel that this is just as important as the quality of the food.

Shame people couldn't have been a bit more considerate with the lifts :sad2:

We ate at Chef Mickey's last trip and although I enjoyed the character interaction and the food, it was a bit underwhelming. I might try breakfast there next trip.
