bedtime question

My daughter is about to turn 4 and she stays up so late, 9:30 or so (10:15 tonight cause of the Wings game). Her daycare naps between 1:30-3:30 so she just can't sleep any earlier. For the longest time I was putting her to bed at 8:30 and she just wouldn't sleep, she'd just bounce around her room until almost 10. On weekends she doesn't nap and goes to bed by 9, and doesn't wake up until about 8:30am.

my 3 year old and 11 year old both go to bed at 9. With the 3 year old, it is a battle to get him bed. He keeps coming down the stairs saying "I'm hungry." or "I'm thirsty." He is such a night owl, but he wakes up fairly early in the mornings. I don't know where he gets the energy, but he exhausts me. LOL

My youngest will be 5 in August. She goes to bed between 8:30-9pm, sometimes later. She does nap everyday still for about 2 hours. She just got done with preschool which was 3 days a week and started at 9am. She is an early riser, always up by 7am no matter what time she goes to bed:confused3

My husband thinks she should go to bed earlier. Since I don't work, it is really not a hassle with bedtimes for me. Now that summer is approaching I am thinking all the kids will be going to bed later since they have nothing early to get up for.

My 5, 8, and 12 yrd old go to bed at 8 pm. Occasionally my 12 yr old will get to stay up til 8:30 reading but if she stays up any later, she doesn't get up with her 6 am alarm clock.

We start putting DS (5) to bed shortly after 7, but by the time you figure potty, brushing teeth, jammies, story, etc - the lights get turned out between 7:45 and 8. He usually stays awake reading for a bit, but it generally asleep before 8:30. He wakes up sometime around 6 am, and rarely naps.

DD (2) starts the same process (more or less) at 6:30, although she sings in bed instead of reading. She still naps, but wakes up shortly after DS gets up and starts running around.

8 pm since he was 4, he napped during the day at that time so he was fine. Summer time is later, just whenever I feel like putting him to bed, but never past 9:30 ( he is 6 now ). I am a sahm, we dont go to day camp everyday, so he can sleep in if he feels like it.
Before age 4 that it was 7 or 7:30. Mommy needed her quiet time after a long day with a two yr old HAHA.

Mine didnt nap past age 2.5. I still put them to bed at 9. i am not a morning person and didn't want to be woken up at the crack of dawy. I like to have my coffee and computer time to myself before they woke up. I still set my alarm for before I have to wake them up and they are all older now.

My 5 year old goes to bed around 9ish--sometimes she will be up to close to 10 on nights where we have church, etc. However she sleeps till about 8:45ish. She is like her dad, she would rather be up at night and sleep in. Since she is starting kindergarten in the fall, I will have her in bed by 8 for the school year.

My 10 yr old goes to bed at 9 and gets up at 7 for school. Without school I let them all stay up till 10 if they can make it so they can see Dad when he gets off work and he can help with the bedtime routine. That is our time to sit and read and talk for a few minutes. It is also our summer time family prayer time since we don't get that opportunity during the school year.

My DH has worked nights almost all of DS's life, so we always stayed up late and slept late, so DH could get more sleep. Now, DH is working 3 days/2 nights and will hopefully go to 5 days soon. I am trying to wean DS back to 9pm for the summer and hope to have him in bed by 8:30 when he starts school in the fall. If 8:30 doesn't work out, then we will adjust his bed time to whatever he needs.

Since she has started having to get up at 6 am she has falling asleep at 630 pm.
