Thanks for your help! We stayed at the Hojo Oct 2008 and June of 2009 and their beds were sooo comfy! I know they were in the process of replacing them all and wondered if anyone has experience with the beds in buildings 3-6. Are they as comfy as the other rooms with the pillowtop beds?? We want to book the $59 ent rate rooms as we are just looking for a nice place to sleep. We are ok with the smaller beds, but the hubby has a bad back and there is nothing faster to kill the disney magic for 3 little ones than walking thru the park with a grumpy dad!:goodvibes Thanks everyone!

We stayed in a double room in October 2010 and thought the beds were very comfy. We didn't notice a huge difference between the premium queen room 5 months before and the double.
My DH tends to have a sore back, and he didn't complain about the beds at all.

Yes I most definitely assure you that they have beds. Now their sister property does not because they are a family fun campsite. So they instead have tents, tepees and small cabins.
Some of the amenities are singing cumbaya at their main campfire, or at a smaller more personal one. There is a small charge for extra smores, or having to retrieve naughty campers from the dens of bears, when said naughty campers do not heed the warnings for not venturing into said dens.
One can either go fishing or hunting for their dinner, or you can order take out.
Whatever you do, do not tease any of the wildlife, for the last time that happened.... well to this day the last known camper it is said can be heard off in the far distance when the moon is full and the wolf bane is in bloom, can be heard howling. Animal control has been called in on several occasions, however to no avail, for this now possibly rabid, once mild mannered Silicon Valley CEO runs amok throughout these woods, wearing only his fruit of the looms, well what is left of them. Anyway, don't worry about him, his family doesn't after all.

Have fun! Don't forget to send us all a postcard.....

Huh? What does this have to to with beds at the Howard Johnson?

We'll be there for the Tinkerbell run - happy to hear that they are comfy beds!

One way to know for certain is to phone the in house reservations or guest services at the anaheim hojo.

The only advice I would have is to consider paying 10.00 more (so 69.00 per night for the ent rate) to get the two queen beds. I know you said you are okay with the double beds, but I think it makes all the difference to have a queen--especially if you are sharing the bed with someone (even a small child). I learned this lesson on a recent trip (I booked through priceline and didn't realize they were double sized beds, not queens). Even though I only shared the bed with my 11 year old--the bed seemed so small with two people in it. This is because the width of a double (also called a full sized bed) is the same width as crib mattress but longer when you have two people in the bed sharing!

I find that I sleep terribly when I sleep in a bed that is too small with another person. Your husband may feel the same if he is light sleeper.

Hojos garden pool rooms are in that 69.00 range and have 2 queens and are VERY quiet rooms. I think it is worth the extra 10.00 per night!

It is just a joke... I read a thread title, and normally if it strikes me a certain way, then so does my comedic vein, a thousand pardons for any real or imagined humor on my part. :)

You've got an irreverent sense of humor, that like me, sometimes get's us into trouble. Now back on topic so to speak. I've stayed in building 2 on previous visits, and the comfy beds alone are worth it. I stayed in building 4 in Oct/10 during my solo trip, and found the beds there to be just as comfortable. It's worth to stay at HOJO's for the bigger rooms, and the close proximity to the parks. Have never had any problems with multiple visits since 2009 that were quickly resolved. Hope that you have a great trip!

We have stayed at the HoJo the last two years for the Disneyland half. We have stayed in the premium rooms and the beds are great. I have a back injury and we have been known to go to Costco and buy a memory foam for me while on vacation before, we have also packed that same one for me and lugged it to our condo every year. So you're talking to someone with back issues. LOL. I can stay there without issues. But that is their pillow top beds so I can't speak to a standard room bed.

Hope that helps
