Bedroom Doors

During the summer all doors have to be open. 110 year old house, the only AC upstairs is in our bedroom, the kids would be a sweaty mess if we kept the door closed. And the damned dog can never decide if she wants to sleep on the floor in our room, the bed or the living room couch.

Always open. We have dogs and cats that can't stay in the same place for too long. DD usually leaves her door open just a crack, but if the windows are open, it'll close her door so then she'll put a pillow on the floor rather than open the door all the way.

I leave it open because i think it helps the air circulate better. Our house is old and not easy to heat or cool. Also, one time our fridge motor burned up and I didn’t hear the smoke detector when the door was closed. (It’s right outside the door.). I’m not what I would consider a sound sleeper. That really shook me up. My husband had to shake me awake and keep repeating that we had to get out. He normally leaves for work really early in the morning so I want the door open in case I need to be alerted to something.

Closed. I live in an apartment by myself and if somebody breaks in, I want something between them and me.

Always open, due to pets, kids, etc. There are usually no small children here any longer, but I sure don't want to get up in the night to open the door for our cat.
