I know I've heard something about bedrails for the bed that pulls down out of the ceiling for rooms that sleep 4, but what about for the "couch" bed?

We have a 2 year old that has slept in a twin bed since he was 16 months old (i.e. he isn't going to sleep in a crib). But since he is so young, we've just placed the mattress on the floor to avoid him from hurting himself should he fall out of bed.

You could use the bedrails from the bunk if your not using the bunkbed. You could ask your room stewart if they have any extras.

The bed is not very high off the floor, so you may not even need them.

We noted we needed a bedrail on our reservation and it was installed on the sofa bed the first night.

The rail is like the mesh rail we use at home. I think it was a Graco one.

Our room attendant put it on the first night and then stored it under our bed during the day. We installed it ouselves every other night.

DD3 is a restless sleeper. As a matter of fact she was sleeping at the bottom of her bed this morning. But on the cruise, she was so tired, she went to bed in one position and was in the same one the next morning.

We used a bedrail on our last cruise and on our next we will need a rail for both beds. I have seen them installed on the top bed also.

how far ahead do we need to reserve the rails? can we ask for it once on board?

I asked for it once we were on board this past cruise and every night when he made up the room and turned down the beds he installed the rail for us and in the morning he took it off.

We requested a bedrail on the second night of the cruise for our DGD (3). She feel out onto the floor from the sofa bed and konked her head pretty hard on the coffee table. Our room steward had it all set up for us every evening at the turn down service and she took it off every morning. I don't think it is necessary to request one ahead of time.

Hi, I would request bedrails on your reservation to assure they will have them when you board...they get bedrails, cribs, booster seats etc from storage on land before the ship leaves port so if it is on the reservation you will definitely get them.....they try to accomodate every passenger but if you let them know in advance you can ease your mind ahead of time.
