bed rails for toddlers?

What does everyone do when putting a toddler in the bed? My 2 yr old recently went into a regular bed, I really would rather not bring along his bed rail. Are the chairs (at POP) tall enough to put next to the bed? I had seen where you could get a bed rail, I'm guessing only for those with medical reasons though?

When we went to Disney in 2003 with our then 1 year old twin boys and 4 year old daughter, we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and they had bed rails available to use at no additional cost. You might want to check with your resort to see if they have the bedrails.....if POR does, I'm sure Pop should too.

You can request bed rails on your resort reservation at no extra cost. We have done this on our last two stays at WDW at BWV and AKL.

As others have posted, just request the bedrails on your reservation and you may have to mention it again at check-in. At POR we had to call 2x to get them to bring the rails and then they ended up bringing a bedboard instead. They finally got it right after awhile. Last year at POP it was at our room w/in minutes after we got to our room. And there is no extra charge!

Although others have said bed rails can be requested (which is great), we did the chair thing at YC and that worked out fine as well.

As a mom who had a tragedy two years ago, I can speak to this one. We did not know that they had bedrails and (then) DS5 fell out of bed and cut his lip open at midnight our first night there. Since then, we request them when we make reservations. When we went at Christmas time 2004 (POFQ), they did not have them in our room, but we called Mousekeeping and had them brought to us within 5 minutes. I'm very disappointed that they do not advertise this more, as we would have never had the tragedy two years ago. Of course, if you ask one of the CM's, they will tell you that it is in the paperwork that they give you at check in. But who actually reads that when you check in!? I'm told that every resort has them, upon availablity. Good Luck
