Bed Question (All Star Refurb vs. Pop)

So it seems all refurbished resorts are getting pillowtop mattresses. I'm staying at POP 2/21-26. I remember the All Star Sports beds being pretty hard and I suspect POP to be similar. Is it worth switching to All Star Music for the beds? I'm staying preferred at POP and ASMu only has non-preferred, so I would also save $70. I like the idea of POP simply because I've been to the All Stars, but then again, Music seems so much more peaceful...almost mod-like.

So, who can compare the beds? Thanks!

We really enjoyed the pillowtop mattresses and newly refurbished rooms at All Star Music.

Plus Music has much more landscaping and tends to be quieter than the other values.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

We stayed at POP for one night last year, and it was enough! The bed was literally like a cot, and SO uncomfortable. I don't know if we are the only ones who feel this way. However, we just stayed at ASMu (which has been refurbed) and the beds were great! They were very comfortable, and I checked the matress for bed bugs and there were none to be found lol. Just my two cents

AS Music has replaced all their bedding with the pillow-top mattresses. I need an accessible room and can share that the king beds at Pop have all been like sleeping on concrete while the ones at ASMu feel quite luxurious. ASSports is now undergoing a renovation so perhaps they'll also have the nicer beds. Pop will probably eventually get them too- until they do I'm sticking with AS Music for a value resort. Gotta sleep.---Kathy

Linda, your posts (and pics) were the driving force behind this post! Thanks so much for all of your All Star info. I am really leaning towards All Star Music now. I am so indecisive when it comes to Disney for some reason.

+Saves me $70 (Ok its not preferred, but oh well)
+Rooms look a lot nicer IMO.
+POP just looks "loud" compared to any of the all stars. 60's is ugly
+ pillowtop sounds heavenly after a long day at the parks

-Food court seems better at POP
-Never been to POP, stayed at Sports before and visited all of the AS resorts. I always like staying/visiting new places.

we just stayed at the ASMu for 9 days in november (nov. 5th to the 14th).

The beds were VERY comfortable.

i haven't stayed at the pop, so i can't compare them for you.

i also had considered staying at the pop this time, because we hadn't stayed there before, but changed to the Music, since it seemed as if it would be quieter. I don't know if it was quieter than the pop, but it was definitely nice and quiet and peaceful.
We really enjoyed our stay there.
