My daughter & I are staying at CBR 11/26/10 - 11/30/10. I checked the Bed Bug Registry & there were two enteries in 2010 regarding bed bugs, Jamaica & Trinidad North. Has anyone heard anything or experienced bed bugs while at this resort?

I booked a preferred room & I am going to ask for something in Martineque when we check-in. I really do not want to be inconvenienced by bed bugs and risk bringing those suckers home with us.

I was just at CBR...Oct. 24th-Nov. 2.

We had a king size bedroom in Jamaica 4236. Our room was in great condition. I checked the mattress before we unpacked and it looked brand new. I can't speak for other rooms at CBR...but ours was very clean.

Thank You!! I am going to check the mattresses, too... Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

There have been reports off and on and several Disney resorts. Just check you room carefully and if you have any fears that you may have them, go to the front desk and ask management to inspect and move you to another room.

I was there at the end of Sept and beginning of Oct. We were in building 14 barbados. I always have the thought of bed bugs in the back of my head. As soon I got into our room I checked the mattress and there were no bed bugs. :) Don't worry yourself to death about it. Just check the mattress before you bring your stuff in and if you find something report it to the front desk and they will be more than happy to more you. Have a great vacation!!:goodvibes

Remember, the bed bug registries and the reports you see on travel sites are NOT professional reports. Often they have not been confirmed and are written by people who "think" they had them. So take them with a grain of salt and realize what they are... unconfirmed reports.

Just because someplace is said to have had bed bugs doesn't mean they still have it. Also, just because there are no reports about someplace out, doesn't mean they have never had it.

Check the bed before you bring in your luggage. Don't worry to much about it.

We stayed in Jamaica 46 at October 22-28 with no bed bugs. I checked the mattresses and headboards and didn't see anything suspicious. I thought the mattresses looked brand new, too.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I really appreciate it!

By the time it has been reported to the Bed Bug Registry, Disney has resolved the problem in that building. But another guest could have brought more with them to another building in the mean time.

Once it is reported to Disney, they have staff who take care of it immediately.

The night before the trip we just got back from this weekend, we stayed at a Clarion hotel, in Queens, right across the street from the La Guardia airport, a hotel that is frequented by millions of people from all over the world every year, and one that is smack dab in the middle of the bedbug hotbed of the country.

We did not see any bedbugs in the room (and I checked), nor did we have any ill effects from the stay. I see a lot of threads on this site about bedbugs and the fear of them, and I've always taken them with a grain of salt, but after my most recent travel experience, I've gotta say that if I'm okay in a low-mid range airport hotel in Queens, you'll be okay in a Disney hotel, where they are more concerned about guest perception than anywhere else in the world.

Good comparison! Thanks....
