Becoming very DISappointed

If this is any consolation, my DD's now DF, contacted Disney before his recent planned proposal. They weren't really able to help with ideas over the phone, so he was trying to decide how best to propose to our DD. When we were actually at Disneyland, we talked to CMs and different ones were more than happy to help. One arranged for a special place for our families to watch the fireworks, another let DD and her DF under the roped off area of the castle for him to propose after the fireworks, and yet another gift shop manager presented the happy couple with a beautiful gift. It turned out better than any of us expected, even though many of the things were impromptu!

To make a long story short, maybe when you actually get to the park and talk to someone, they can help...or at least direct you to someone who can! Best wishes to you!!

I had planned on doing the post wishes engagement unfortunately the park is open until Midnight on the 1st so there will still be thousands of people wondering around after wishes...I have no idea anymore but I'll come up with something I tend to work best under pressure LOL

You know, if you go to DTD and make buy your own glass slipper, then make the rose/carnation pillow they put it on yourself....that shouldn't be too hard.

Have you thought about going to the Poly, GF or FW and being on the beach to watch the fireworks? You would have (hopefully) seclusion and privacy. You could get a blanket (or towels) spead them out, grab some items from your hotel, I was surprised the last time to find cheese, crackers, grapes and nuts, in a cute little package. You could get some wine (if you drink) and make it a nice romantic evening. If you did it at FW, you could see about getting one of the carragie drivers to drop you off...

Yeah, that's a good point about watching the fireworks from a resort beach. To me, the words "Seclusion" and "New Years Day at the Magic Kingdom" don't really go hand in hand.

I think there would be thousands of people walking around after Wishes any night - it just seems to be twenty times that amount during peak times! There's never been a night, even when the park's been at it's low low times, when I haven't seen TONS of people line Main Street and around the Partners statue, etc. for the fireworks.

I don't think it's so bad if there are people around (who doesn't love seeing such romantic magic happen right in front of their eyes?) but I can understand your girlfriend maybe being embarassed by it. My df proposed to me before the Golden Mickeys and they streamed the whole thing on a live feed into the theater of HUNDREDS! I was totally embarassed.

I'm planning on at some point in time just sort of taking a walk with her to "relax" and do it at that point.
