Becoming Lean, Mean, Endurace Event Machines in 2008

Have fun Dave and here's hoping that Princess Erica grants you a reprieve for your bad Panda behavior!!

Dave: offhand, I'd say diamonds will do the trick, but if that's not your style you can always try the second best thing a woman loves.......help clean the house! Works for me every time!

Lisa: hope you're feeling better.....seems like it's been a long road.

Shan: great news about making your goal!

Everyone else: Happy Tuesday!

Well I can see I'm not getting any support here form the princesses. Ok how about if I take her on a day trip to Nashville, lunch at a restraunt of her choice and maybe a movie with popcorn and snuggling after we get home? Think that will get my good Panda points back?

Ooooooo....you might get points back and a little something extra.....like....a backrub.:)

Good Afternoon, Lean Mean Brigade!

The rest day went well, and I'll be back on the TM tonight. My new favorite breakfast is a Vitamuffin top and a banana. Only 3 pts., and I'm full 'til lunch. Yesterday, I even forgot to eat until 2...that's never happened before ;)

Here's another little change that's really helped me. I moved my yogurt from breakfast to after my lunch entree. Now it feels like dessert, and I skip something sweet with empty calories (ok, I know Debra wouldn't eat my yogurt, but it works for me). I also eat raw veggies as an appetizer before my entree. I don't have the time or energy to do a salad every day, but I can do cucumber sticks or baby carrots. This seems to help me eat slower because I took the edge off my hunger first.

Any other good tips out there? I know you all have things you don't think twice about, that might really spark something great for someone else!

Dave -- I like Jeanne's suggestion. Nothing says I love you like clean underwear! :rotfl2:

Lisa -- Go out and enjoy the warmth! After this winter, it just feels good to be outside. :goodvibes

Vic -- Good luck getting outside for your run. I think I'll be in today, 'cause it's gonna pour. :umbrella:

Stacie -- Ok, I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say if you really hate aquacise (and not in the good way), maybe another XT activity might be in order? I only say this because I was determined to do this cardio dvd as XT, and I totally hated it. I'd put it off and not do it and not substitute anything else, and I wasn't helping me at all. :sad2: Find something else you love!

Beth -- I know you like to cook for others, so you know how it is! I really can't do it without a little bit for me. But, once I decide I can have a little bit and actually count it, I seem to be satisfied. It's when I tell myself I can't have any that I get into trouble! :rolleyes1 I think your goal sounds very doable!

Shan -- :woohoo: So glad you are getting the credit you deserve!

Lily -- Great job on the weight loss! :cool1:

Debra -- Have you seen Spamalot? We've been twice, and we just love it. :dance3: Bob is certainly motivating for me. I am so jealous, one of my friends lives near him, and she runs into him at Starbucks and the grocery store all the time. Is that wrong or what? She literally almost ran over him with her cart one day. I would be too embarrassed to have him see what's in mine.

Connie -- The bodybugg sounds very cool, what will they think of next?! :thumbsup2

Tracey -- You are on the move! Great job and good luck with finding your right combination! :wizard:

Bill and Liz -- :wave2:

Keep it Lean and Mean!
Maria :flower3:

Hello lean and meaners. Well I guess I'm out of the Panda house again. All I did was make snarky remarks about her directions. Well we went to Nashville to find the Hospital where her surgery will be next week. She wrote down 40 West and should have put down 40 East so we got off on the wrong side of Nashville and had to cut across the city during lunch rush hour. I just accepted her explaination that the Yahoo Map directions were wrong and bought her a nice lunch anyway. She opted for a nap instead of the movie and I get to make dinner.

Maria it's so good to see you motivated again, when you are so excited, it rubs off on us.

Jeanne I do a lot of house work anyway. Laundry, vacuuming, heating up stuff in the micro wave....

Lisa, Hi prettty princess, that was cute this morning with the drive by trash talk.

Stacie, Beth and Vic, yes I try to stay on the good side of my princess, they have ways of making us suffer.

Everyone have a wonderfull evening, eat well and healthy.

Leaner Panda:hippie:

Connie: The Bodybugg sounds amazing. I'd read about it somewhere else on, but it's so useful to have someone I know and whose opinion I trust review it. I like the idea you can choose your own eating plan, and the pie chart is so useful for someone like me--a much more visual person than numbers one. I need to consider this, because I love my gadgets. (A Garmin probably needs to come first, though.)

Shan: Great news on the time. Like I said, you earned it. Are you still thinking about, or are you going to do, the CMM?

Dave: I'm a little late to the Panda-pushing party, but I'll add my two princess cents. Points can be taken away at any time, for any reason. They may expire at the discretion of said princess awarding them, just as they may be awarded at said princess's will (a will which is never ill, mind you, simply fair and just). As for style, every princess has her own, which is what makes her special! That said, the Panda knows the best way to lobby for his panda points to be reinstated and I'm sure his princess will recognize his efforts & respond accordingly. :thumbsup2

Great job on the lawn mowing, tready, overall WO, and of course on owning a scale that is nice to you. (Mine has a grudge.) I wouldn't mind a PM with the link to the weight training site, just for the instructions of course. Naked bodies...meh.

Lily: You're right on with the absorption of protein being difficult in veggie/vegan diets; I didn't type in that information (too lazy of me). The book is a very good one, and I'll try to post more information when I get back from WDW. It's a bit of a dry read, very academic, so I skim most of her chapters--they're filled with summaries of reports, lots of citations to research, etc. But I kind of just want to get to the bottom line, you know. In the meantime, I do feel more energetic, so I'm inclined to think well of the book even if it's a struggle to get through it (sort of like Chi Running). I probably should see a nutritionist, but right now I feel more in control if I'm doing a little reading on my own.

Oh, and scar talk. Hah! It made me think of the NPR "Car Talk." I love that show.

And in case I haven't mentioned it, I think your consistent weight loss is fabulous! I really think you're going to be able to maintain this for the long haul.

Tracey: Tell your DH ITA. :thumbsup2 Show that sexy scar off (not mine, so I can say that). I so think you can do a sub-3:00 race. I'd like to run the full this year, but I'll be keeping an open mind to the RW, as it's so enjoyable to drink my PowerAde & not drown in it.

Lisa: So, does your busy schedule make you want to run, run away. :rotfl2: (Geez, folks, I'm really sorry. It's one of those pun-filled days for me. I really can't help it.) I'm so happy that you got great NB lime-green gear...and for those prices. It almost, but not quite, makes up for your never-ending winter and soggy spring.

Beth: You tech-issue story is so funny, primarily because I can see that happening to me. (And similar things have happened to me.) Thanks goodness for good friends! I hope the rest of your day went smoothly.

Stacie: Isn't it weird, how we can actually feel like we got better WOs (and do get them) when we have to MAKE ourselves do them? There's something about overcoming the mental challenge/resistance as well as the physical. I always feel extra-strong when I do that, even if the physical WO is so-so. Your WO, btw, sounds like it was challenging. I hope your chiro appointment was not, though.

Vic: Ah, JD Black Label. Now you're talking my language. I hope you got a good run in, where ever the weather took you. I still say I should be allowed to play with the cars, especially since it would allow me to bond with Timmy. Original Bill agrees, too. (Yes, I'll speak for him here.)

Maria: I may not eat your yogurt, but I do eat yogurt for lunch and as a treat. With blueberries & granola. Mmmmm. See, I like my sweets, too, and fruit is a favorite. I think you've got great ideas/eating habits in place. I hardly ever eat salads for lunch, but do munch on raw veggies. In my rotation I include green & red peppers because I like the taste combo. I also eat celery. If I'm craving protein and good fat, which I often do, I'll bring some PB or hummus for the veggies, especially the celery--it takes the edge off the hunger. Or apples slices & PB. I've also found what I eat for breakfast has a huge impact on my day--I go for oatmeal, fruit, and some protein.

And for a mid-afternoon pickup, visualize Bob holding a protein shake! :rotfl:

I'd suggest Spam, but I don't eat it. (Did when I was a kid, fried with an egg, at my grandmother's house. I remember thinking it was...okay.) I haven't seen Spamalot, but want to. I have visited the Spam Museum--which was a hoot and included an exhibit on Spamalot.

As for me: I'm getting ready for the trip, which increasingly occupies my free time. We don't fly out until Friday, as it really is just a weekend trip, but my time on the DIS will get more sporadic as the week progresses.

In preparation, I tried on my summer shorts & capris, which I have yet to pull out for Pittsburgh weather. You know how you have those different sizes for your different sizes? Well, I have three sizes of clothes, roughly: my ideal-goal clothes (or as I like to call them, "Do you really think you're going to see that size again?"), my feeling-good-about things clothes, and my "let's try to hide the thighs" clothes. Well, I'm happy to say that I comfortably fit into my feel-good shorts & capris, something that was very touch & go last summer. I haven't lost a lot of weight, but it looks like I have been shifting those pounds around. :woohoo:

Good morning Lean Meaners. I am feeling muuuuch better today. Still coughing but it is slowing down. The wind is blowing 50-60 mph gusts today but the sun is out. Spring may be here yet!! :beach: Okay, maybe not that much but it's a start.

Panda: Drive by trash talk...what you talkin bout Willis?? :rolleyes1 Someone has to keep you on your toes while Erica is sleeping/working. :upsidedow And in Erica's defense, I have had both Yahoo and Mapquest pull that cute little trick on me before. I am a rigid direction follower. DH knows where he is spacially all the time, me I am out in space!!! :teleport:

Debra: Yay for shorts fitting. I use the travel excuse to buy new. All my clothes are too big (I know, I know) but they are still my favorites so I just bought a couple belts. :rotfl: Being spring, it is time to clean out anyway so off to TJ Maxx I go again. :woohoo:

Connie: Bodybugg, I heard them say it on Biggest Loser last night. It is the same thing that they wear!! It does sound interesting although working it into my wardrobe may become an issue for me. How cool that you could track your progress every day all the time though. I am going to look into it later today.

Beth: I am Ms. Fix It around here. This morning I got up and DH was staring at a blank TV screen. He could not make the satellite connect. Off I go for my step stool and unplug and plug it back in. Hello, winds, surge, I had to ask if I was not here if he would just watch the blank screen. My dad was a mechanic and electrician so I learned a lot. The first step is always the obvious. Logical processing follows. Not so far removed from nursing. I know it is sooooo easy to get frustrated though as we just want something to work seamlessly in our lives. At least you have someone who can help!!!

Lily: Your road back has certainly not been as long as some. It is inspiring to hear how you have overcome this adversity. Your weight loss is awesome and consistency is the key. I continue to marvel at your dedication. I remember after the half this year that I was so excited to talk to everyone and you came out and did your stretching. It made me feel guilty and at the same time, again, admiring of your dedication and respect of yourself. You are a true wonder!!!

Stacie: Mental is huge for me. I have often told DH that anyone who comes along in the first mile of my run that offered me a ride would probably be shocked when I said "sure". I dislike the first mile, I have to talk to myself a lot that it is just a mile. Not so long ago it was almost a mile. I find that keeping positive thinking is where it is at to motivate me. Last year this was hard, etcetera. It is gratifying to work through the negativity but makes the workout feel more drudging also. Next time the negative thought comes in, try finding the positive side. Did I mention I am a pessimist?? :sad2:

Maria: I choose nuts when I am hungry and in between meals. If I am feeling particularly hungry or needing a sweet fix, I choose some trail mix and either mix in some mini chocolate chips or buy the stuff with the M and M's. Sinful yet not because I don't eat that much. Another good snack is cheese. Proteins tend to fill you up and last longer. I hope this helps add something to your weight loss.

Shan, Tracey, Vic, Bill and Mike: :dance3: What more can I say???

Have a great day everyone. I am hoping to get the house clean, kidlets to school, groceries obtained and laundry done. Hey, it's my day off, relaxation is the key right???? :laundy:

Good morning guys and pretty pincesses.

I was happy to see 170.8 on the scale this morning, just a matter of days till it says something in the 160 range. I'm going to one 160 if I can and then start increasing my eating till I stabilize between there and 165. It's so easy to lose weight on a primarily veggie diet.

Yesterday's eating was:

Breakfast; shredded wheat, with banana and skim milk. Coffee, water and a vitamin.

Lunch; 8 oz grilled salmon, baked patoto, steamed veggies, banana bread.

Dinner was large mug of low fat mushroom soup made with skim milk.

snack; 6 oz of pineapple.

3 20 oz bottles of water, 4 cups coffee, 2 big glasses of water.

This was a total loss of 2 tenths of a pound.

I'm heading off for the gym, tready time again since it's freezing here this morning. Either rain or cold, where the heck is spring anyway?

Have an awesome day y'all.

Happy Panda:hippie:

Good Mornin' Lean Meaners!
Recipe alert...last night my son pulled out a recipe from RW---Walnut and Blueberry Bran Pancakes. We made them for dinner. They were incredible!!! Tasty, filling....the BEST panckes ever!!!:cool1: Can you tell I really liked them? Anyway, an hour later we both had PR times. My son got his mile time to a 4:50....I ran 2 miles at a less than 10 m/m pace(outside). So that made those pancakes even better. They will be a staple at our house. Runners do have their quirky habits don't they? I posted them on the recipe thread link in Lily's posts. Give them a try. and now back to our regular thread............:dance3:

Panda: Sounds like you had a perfect day...well aside from the Princess stomping.
Lisa: Glad you're feeling better. Have a great day doing all the things that have to get done. Actually, I kind of like those days.:goodvibes
Deb: Have fun packing. Yay, vacation, and yay for "feel good" clothes! I hope to run or R/W the marathon with my son in a couple years. Well....we'll both be there, but "with him" is a relative term. It'll be like you and DH.:)
Maria: I find that protein goes a long way with me. Two pieces of Earth Grains double fiber bread (2pts), 1 T. pb (2pts) & 1 T. jelly for breakfast lasts me a long time. I don't have WW etools anymore, but I think the above pancakes are probably about 7 points. Oh...and Frigo light cheese sticks are only 1pt. I love yogurt in the afternoon too! It really helps with the whole sweet tooth thing.
Kidlets are starting to stir.....Have a great, strong day, ALL!:cheer2: :cheer2:

Good morning Meaners.......another hump day to celebrate! :dance3:

I am back baby! Feeling good and eating right! :cool1: :cool1: Down 1/2 a pound since Monday.....on my way getting rid of those pesky 3 pounds that I gained and hopefully 2 more! I got a slow 5 miler in last night.....I wore one of those heat packs on my back and it really helped my back pain. Actually, I think my back feels better today!

Tracey: Yeah for the pancakes! I love pancakes.....I have a low carb recipe for pancakes that is even pretty good! Plus, blueberries are the best! :cool1:

Debra: Yeah for the 'feel good clothes'!!!! :cool1:

WWDave: You are a good panda husband....cleaning and cooking? My dh can cook decently, but cleaning isn't in his vocabulary! :confused3

Lily: How did the Doctor's appointment go? Are you back to work soon?

Lisa: Hope your weather remains somewhat stable to bring on Spring! :cool1:

Have a Lean Mean day everyone!

Beth

Happy Wednesday!

Sorry been MIA on here - so many threads, so little time....:surfweb:

Missed too many pages to respond individually (sorry) so to everyone:
WTG on miles and weight loss, Congrats on getting out and doing, Feel better soon if under the weather, Spamalot!!, scars - got em too, tankini - love em, yes, princess points can be revoked at any time for any reason. Whew....

Working from home today and it's actually bright, sunny, light breeze and 52! :cool1: Think I'll take a quick walk after making some lunch. Managed to get in some elliptical time after trainer session on Monday. Felt good so think I'll try to continue some sort of cardio after the sessions.

Was a down day yesterday. Had to pick up new bike trailer after work so that threw off the entire night. Hoping temps hold so can get out for LW before dinner.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Lisa: I'm so impressed by your fix-it abilities. You lost me at "logical processing." At best I'm a jerry-rig kind of fixer and have an inordinate amount of duct tape in my toolbox. (Too much Macguyver in my youth.) I'm another person for whom the mental part of running is a big part of the struggle, although I'm not as experienced as you or running as far (yet, she says hopefully). So it's actually a relief to hear that the experiences I'm having aren't abnormal. I hope you enjoy your oh-so-relaxing day off.

Dave: You must be eating the right kind of veggie diet for weight loss, as this vegetarian has found it altogether too easy to gain a few pounds. I do so love my carbs, fat & sugar. Congratulations on being so determined & shedding those panda-hibernation pounds so quickly. I hope your tready time was dry, at least. (I don't want to know if it wasn't, or why.)

Tracey: Pancakes? I love pancakes, especially with blueberries. (And a touch of maple syrup.) And they're sanctioned by RW. Mmm-mmm good! (See? I love the carbs. That's probably why I'm a vegetarian.) Your DS's pace is SMOKING fast. Wow. And yours exceeds mine, so you're smoking fast too in my book!

Beth: Welcome back, baby! Renewed, reinvigorated, and rewarded with weight loss! Those pesky pounds are going to shoo, I tell you! I'm so glad your back feels better. I can deal with all sorts of minor pain, but the back???? Ugh.

Liz: You have summarized our discussions in two sentences--and accurately! :cool1: We definitely need you here to curb my, um, loquaciousness. It sounds like you're doing a great job getting cardio throughout your day and/or mixing it up. I hope your weather holds so you can do even more, as it sounds like that's what you're itching to do.

As for me: Nothing much to report--it looks like I'm on track to drop another pound by next Monday. Except for that Disney trip, I mean. The trip does bring me to a question, though. I know DOOD has scheduled two character breakfasts because I love them. (I'm really quite shy, so character breakfasts allow me to have some low-key picture-taking opportunities.) In the past, say a couple of years ago, we've eaten REALLY well at the Disney buffets/all-you-can-eats. We'd leave the table so stuffed that we generally skip lunch & only eat dinner. Yeah, yeah, piggy piggy. I know.

But now we don't eat the same way we used to. I'm pretty much eating 5-6 meals a day. And I have no desire to stuff myself--it does horrible things to my body, leaving me lethargic, playing with the blood sugar, etc. So I THINK I'll do okay at the buffet knowing this. On the other hand, I worry about the temptation to overindulge, as breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Add to that the fact it's for my birthday celebration, at WDW, and a character breakfast... I'm afraid my good intentions might fly out the window. But I just can't give up my character breakfast. :upsidedow

So, any tips on how to handle the eating? I'm thinking small plates, lots of protein, look for the oatmeal.

Debra: My suggestions remain the same......make sure you stay hydrated. Drink your water the day before and the morning of your breakfast. Use the small plates, and eat whatever protein you can. Take your time, eat slowly, and have fun with the characters! You know what to do......it's what you do every day. And.....if it doesn't work, blow it off and have a good vacation. It's always good intentions, but you never know what will happen on vacation! One or two mis-steps will not sabbotage all your efforts!

I got a 3.5 mile walk in tonight......I wanted to run, but had plans to go to church tonight and didn't want to get all sweaty......I can't walk fast....I barely kept to a 16 min mile pace. Took me 50:00! I felt slow, but it actually worked me pretty well in the glutes and hamstrings. Walking is not easy, especially when you are trying to keep a pace!

I am happy to report eating well, but not enough today. Work was busy and didn't get to eat lunch......that always makes it hard at night. I have to withstand the night-time munchie monster!:scared1:

Beth

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Someone PUH-LEASE make the wind go away!!!! No wonder women on the prarie in the pioneer days had the highest rates of suicide!!!!

Ahem....

Back to our regularly scheduled posting...You are all doing so well!!!

The Bodybugg is what they are using on "The Biggest Loser" and the more I use it the more I like it. LISA it isn't big, though. I can wear it and nobody notices it, unless I have on short sleeves and then I can just hang my shuffle on it and no one will think twice...or maybe they will and they can ask me and then YOU GUYS won't be the only one suffering from an overdose of all my wisdom....yea wisdom, that's what we will call it!! :cool1:

Debra, I am gadget happy. If I had to choose between my Bodybugg and my Garmin...I would go first with the Garmin, but this time I would only get a 205. I can't wear the chest strap. It irritates my skin something awful and leaves a mark behind that resembles a red scar. Not pretty and it feels worse! (If anybody needs a replacement chest strap, let me know!) And then I would get the bodybugg!

I'm back..so many posts in 4 days, I don't want to try to respond to them all, since I will miss someone.

The Swan and Dolphin as meeting facilities are wonderful.

The bed was great (first time I've comfortably slept while away in a long time...of course Maggie was able to sneak down for two nights, so that helped); but honestly I'm not sure I could justify the premium if I was going to WDW on vacation...it just looked run down...not what I would expect for 300 plus/night.

Even though I only worked out once there, and entertained too long and hard, I actually lost weight while there, I'm down to 212 as of this mornings workout!

Fight hard meaners...we're going to make it!!!

Good morning guys and pretty princesses.

I have to work a 12 hour shift today so y'all will get a break from my sillyness till tomorrow. I do get to go in late tomorrow so I'll be able to get a good workout in then. Today will just be some stretching before I head off for the salt mines.

I sure wish I was doing the Minnie with you guys that are going to that, I need to recharge with my buds, a week of fun, late evening beer at the Big River Bewery and the company of so many pretty princesses in bright florecent WISH shirts, yep life is good. Come on ToT!!!

We are having another wonderfull rain adventure here, our rivers, creeks and ponds are already at flood stage so the next two days of rain should make things quite wet. The weekend is supposed to be dry so maybe I can get an outside walk in before work on Saturday.

I'm watching the news as I write this and they are talking about a couple of doctors who are saying we don't need those 8 glasses of water a day since we get most of our needed liquid from the food we eat and the juices, milk, coffee and soda we drink. They said if your thirsty then drink more but most people don't need it. Now here is the kicker: they said the small segment of the population that workout regularly need more liquid to replace the sweat loss. I wonder how long it took them to come to that conclusion. I hadn't really thought about it but if you sit all day and don't sweat or do anything active, you probably don't need as much liquid intake.

Wishing everyone a super day.

I seriously feel this way about the rain right now!

Panda, you're getting all this icky rain too. Have a good work day.
Mike, glad you're back. Oooooo....heavenly beds are wonderful. WTG on the weight loss.
Beth, Nice job on the walk. I agree with you, power walking is tough. Keep up the good work.
Debra, :bday: I'm thinking you leave tomorrow morning. Have a wonderful time and a joyous birthday. No comment on the breakfast buffet, except I love everything about character breakfast buffets at Disney. Just keep a mind-set that it's not about the food. Well there, I did comment after all.:)
Liz, Nice job on summarizing our posts. I'm jealous of your nice weather.

Have a great day everybody.:dance3:

Good morning Lean Meaners!!

Mike: Nice to have you back. Heavenly beds were beyond awesome and I commented about the same thing. Best night sleep on vacation I ever had. I liked the Swan and we paid $149 a night during ToT last year but I have to say they need to lose the minibar and just have a fridge. I can pay the same or less for a moderate and get the fridge. Besides, if I have to pay for the town car, I might as well get some munchies and then where to put them???

Dave: A 12 hour shift. Crazy panda. I work 7 hour days and think that is way too much. Any more interferes with workout time!!

Beth: Glad to hear the back is better. If I were to power walk with a sore back, I would be more sore as I find it hurts my glutes, back, hammies, etcetera. Yes, Panda I know, more walking better rear view....

Debra: Have a mucho happy birthday in the world. I wish my DH would do something fun like that. He groused the whole time we were in WDW for ToT last year for #41. I wore my button all weekend and it was great, free baclava, character pics, etcetera. Worth every (free) penny!!! Buffets, I avoid them as I never eat enough to justify the price. We did Ohana for character breakfast and it was really good food and not overwhelming. I like when they bring the food to your table and keep filling it, I don't take so much that way as it is right in front of me. Eat, drink and be merry are my votes, diet later!!!!

Connie: The Bodybugg sounds very interesting for me just because I would be interested to have my intake displayed in front of me. Wake up call shall we say. I am however, not sure that the $$ is justifiable for someone only wanting to monitor intake for slight tweakage. I like the gadget but doing this on my own has definitely been a growing experience (or shrinking??) and I find it a challenge daily. Also, LOVE MY GARMIN 205. I opted for the non-heart rate version as I can tell when I am out of my target zone after all these years. I was also not sure I would wear the chest strap. I also love the look of the new 405 wristwatch style. I have a small wrist and the 205 is big and bulky and if I don't put my shirt under it, tends to rub on my wrist bone.

Tracey: I love the pancake recipe, except the walnuts, darned allergies. I usually substitute almonds in place of walnuts. I do want to make the suggestion to either use powdered buttermilk or lower fat milk in the recipe to cut some calories and fat. Also, anyone who does not have oat flour, you can put oatmeal in the blender or food processer and grind it to make oat flour. No sense spending extra $$ when you have oatmeal already. I have a Magic Bullet which is perfect for this task. Great for smoothies too!!

All other Lean Mean machines: How is everyone's training and eating going? I really like hearing how everyone is working toward their goals. It inspires me more and makes me more conscious of the things I need to change in my own routine. I hope everyone has a great day. Hate to rub it in for all those rainy people but we have SUN and 50 DEGREES today. No snow, almost lawn showing, spring.....are you out there???? :flower3:

Lisa..We actually did use your suggestion when we made the pancakes and "ground" our own oat flour with the Magic Bullet. It worked like a dream. The bullet was DS14 Christmas gift this year from Grandma. He makes 1 to 2 smoothies a day and that was his gift request.

I'm getting in four runs a week---a quick 2 miles, 2-3milers, and a long run (this week it's 7). I'm finding it hard to get that long one it, I do it it's just not easy with a little one around. I hate to go in the evening when the whole family is home, plus by the time I get to it it's getting dark. I could go during the day, but then it's putting my little guy in the stoller, which is ok, it's just a long time to be in the stoller and sometimes on busy roads. Sounds like I'm making excuses, I'm not because I'm still getting it in. I'm just struggling to make it work. Good news is the scale had not budged since mid-Jan. So for a couple of weeks I relaxed on the WW #'s and this week the scale is moving. Yay!:cheer2:
