Go to their site and sign up for EA for FREE until June 15.

I have used EA and it rocks! Especially after a long flight. No line-ups, just walk out the terminal, hop in a car and go :)

National's EA

I tried signing up & couldn't finish because it kept asking for "Issuing Country for Drivers License". It rejected everything I put in fromUSA to leaving it blank. Anyone else have this problem?

Yup! I got an error message about my credit card, which, the last time I checked, was still good! Is it really worth it?

I got errors on both of those fields the first time.
For USA - I put "United States" and it accepted that

Don't leave any spaces between the numbers in your credit card number. Once I put all of the numbers together, it accepted it.

Yes, the key to the Issuing Country is United States. It took me a couple of trys before I finally got it to take that for the answer, but then it went through fine.

I have another question about the EA. I have registered and printed my membership card. I assume I will be getting one in the mail before we leave in August. I have reseved a car for the trip now all I do is gather my luggage and walk across the street and get in a car and go? This just sounds too wonderful to me. Is that the way it should go? I have reserved an Intermediate size vehicle, how do you know which cars are in that category? I am a DC member but I don't have a coupon for an upgrade or anything and I didn't see one at th Website. If anyone knows these answer pleasetell me. I usually have stood in line to get the car and last year it took two hours to get out of the airport and on our way so I will be grateful to have the ease of EA for sure.

Hi Denise,

I just grabbed my luggage and went out the terminal and across the lane to the parking garage. Emerald Aisle was the first aisle in the garage. I jumped in to the car I reserved (I suppose I could have picked another, but couldn't be bothered). The keys were in it, so I tucked my luggage in the trunk and drove away. Before I exited the parking garage I stopped at the little kiosk and gave the attendant my Emerald Club card and driver's licence, asked for directions to Disney World and within 2 minutes I was on the highway heading for the world!

When I came back...it was the same as any rental. Drive in to the garage, an attendant comes out....gives the car the once over and prints out your receipt from their little hand held dohickey and sends you on your way. It only takes a minute or two.

YEAH!!! I can hardly wait . My DH is normally a very easy going spirit but when he has to wait in the car rental line he is like a caged lion. I think I will make sure I have rented a large enough vehicle. Intermediate should fit everything but we are use to a Taurus and I think that they are considered full size so... I think I may change to the larger size.

So, here's a question. If you try renting through Priceline and if you have an acceptable bid through Priceline for National, are you also able to use this Emerald Aisle card? Oh, and thanks to everyone for encouragement; since its free til the 15th, I signed up for it.

I reserved a car about 3 weeks ago on EA, and I just tried again to get a better rate and saved over $50 over our entire 11 day rental. So keep on checking periodically.
Also, for Disneydenise, don't bother renting an intermediate because you get the Full-size car for the same price.

The different size aisles are marked in the garage.
Emerald Aisle is first if you enter from the right side (in B terminal at least), it will have vehicles of various sizes, you can pick any size from the Emerald Aisle rows if you have an Emerald Aisle reservation. I have seen full size, SUV's,Vans, Convertibles on the EA at various times (but when I was there last month it was just full size or pickups). If you don't have an Emerald Aisle reservation, then you have to pick from the size row you reserved after visiting the counter (unless you have an Emerald Choice reservation). With an Emerald Aisle reservation, you have the choice of picking from the Emerald Aisle or the size you reserved, so reserve full size, it's usually the same price as intermediate and you are guaranteed at least the full size.

I went to website and signed up for the EA and then went to the internet specials and got a better deal, saving $40.

I intend to go back and check to see if I can do better.

Yet another question for clarification. If I have reserved full size EA, but I get there and only intermediates are left in the Emerald Aisle, then do I go to the full size Aisle and get a car? We are not arriving until 7pm on Saturday, and I have a feeling nothing will be left at that point.

I've used EA 3 times in the past 6 months in Orlando and never saw an intermediate on the aisle. The smallest I've seen are Camrys & Regals, they are considered full size (I picked a Camry with less than 200 miles on it in Dec). But if that was the case, you could go to the full size aisle if that is what you reserved.
