Because I'm the Boss Of You That's Why! Last day, HOP ONBOARD!!! Updated 12/11

K, so's anyways after we got the gross, sweaty guy sweat off of Ecogirl we headed over to the gorilla section. Gorilla's are cool guys, :cool2: ya know?! They just chill and walk with that "Nobody messes with me" swagger :snooty: We stopped in the little house/hut thing and I checked out my skull size

IMG_0674.jpg

Ecogirl is WAYYYYYYYY fitter than him! :yay:

IMG_0677.jpg

What R U looking at? Punk.

IMG_0675.jpg

Next one of the funniest things all week happened. Course you had to be there and I won't be able to 'splain it like we saw it but anyhoos.... We saw the HUGE gorilla,

O.
M.
G.

Freaking enormous and not anyone I'd like to run into anywhere :scared1: We were busy oohing and ahhing at him and he's busy doing the swagger checking us out. He might have done a head nod or 2. Then he picks up this little rug that he had and put it on his head, continuing to walk like he was the shiznet to end all.

"Oh, yeah? Wanna start something?"

IMG_0679.jpg

We about DIED laughing :lmao: :rotfl2: Everyone did, it was hysterical! Ahhhhh, I'm giggling just thinking about it! Once we recovered we walked out of the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail having really enjoyed it. It's very sheltered in there and totally worth doing, it's not like you have to wait for anything! We wanted to do the safari next but when we walked out our jaws dropped. No line mojo there, even for FP returns! We decided to keep our FP's for later and noticed the Lion King show was starting fairly soon so headed in that direction. We looked at Everest.

"Well if YOU want we can get FP's"
"I thought YOU wanted"
"No YOU"
"No YOU"
"Well, Bella said she won't believe us unless we get a pic"
"Maybe we can get FP's and fib to her"
"Let's be liars"
"K"

Yeah. that's basically how our EE ride went. I know. We can't hang. Nice picture though, huh?!

IMG_0681.jpg

We noticed the popsicle guy and realized we hadn't eaten anything in a while! I needs me something sweet and we both got the Minnie strawberry bar. SOOOOOOO good!

IMG_0682.jpg

I ate mine wicked fast, as usual. and Ecogirl still had alot by the time we got to the Lion King so I stood in the misting fan for a quick cool off

IMG_0683.jpg

Total "no wait" mojo here! The show started less than 1 minute after walking into the theater and since we both love the Lion King we got totally pumped :cool1: Of course that was after we asked The Guy with the Big Yellow Hat to remove it. He very graciously did but I don't think it was really yellow :lmao: I LOVE the music in this show and even more excited that my best friend was here to experience it with me!

IMG_0685.jpg

IMG_0686.jpg

IMG_0687.jpg

When it was done we pushed and shoved our way out. Geez only "1" exit!!!!!!!! That is SO not right! Hmmm, whaddo we do next? I know! It's Tough To Be a Bug! Ecogirl was dying to see the Tree of Life and this was a great way to do it! Who got the "show mojo"? We does!!! :woohoo: We walked right through and held the line up ourselves getting pics (ahem, Ecogirl, if you are feeling better today post a pic from Tree of Life!)

How do we look?

IMG_0688.jpg

Ecogirl about busted her capri's laughing so hard! :lmao: :rotfl2: Gotta love the 3-D shows Disney put's out, they are great and this is my 2nd favorite behind Philharmagic. That one RULES. She was like a little kid, it was great!!! ;)

Alright, I must go and waste time laying on my deck. I have 3 hours and 45 mins of freedom left so I'll post more on our AK adventures before my time is up!!! Lata homies!~

I love the Gorilla pictures, they're so cute! I was wondering what happened to your plan of riding Everest :lmao: At least you got a good picture out of it! I'm glad you had a good time at the Lion King and It's Tough To Be a Bug - those are two of my favorite things at Animal Kingdom. Great update!

:lmao: I can't believe you guys chickened out on EE! Love the bug glasses pic. Too cute! The story about the gorilla was funny. I guess he decided to put on a special show for you guys. :rotfl2:

We were still holding our guts from laughing at ITTBAB while we headed over to Kali River Rapids. I LOVED this one last year so it was a mustdo! While we were getting our FP's Ecogirl turned on her phone to check for messages and there was one from a recruiter that needed to be returned. I had to use the potty anyways so.... no matter! We lost each other for a bit but it didn't last long and then Pierre called :scared1: Dah, dah, dun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That always makes me sweat a little but nothing was wrong! :thumbsup2 He did whisper some sweet nuthin's in Ecogirl's ear thinking it was me. I hope. Actually, they were probably dirty sweet nuthin's if I know him. TMI!!!!! Everything was good and they were having a great time at the pool, Cooper even got to do a craft which he loves. Later, P!

Next up: Maharaja Jungle Trek. Excuse me if I spell something wrong, I'm worried about taking too much time to double-check the proper names of rides/attractions in case my pc crashes. We went into the bat area and those things are big. 6 foot wing span to be exact :teacher: Luckily that 6 feet is what keeps them in their own area

IMG_0689.jpg

IMG_0690.jpg

Again, I'm completely amazed at how well Disney does things and the incredible detail that goes into the attractions. Tiger's up to bat, hee hee :lmao: tigers/bat's I made a funny! I'm a loser. We hit the tiger area next in the India section. I always think of Sher Khan when I see a tiger

IMG_0691.jpg

One of them IS actually in this pic but a little far away. Even the cracked plaster looks good!

IMG_0692.jpg

We went through another little house thingie to look at something but I can't remember what. All I know is that is was starting to rain when we came out so we busted out the ponchos. And the umbrella's. Don't want to get wet now! Of course being that we were in FL it stopped about 5 minds later so we shook them out and folded them up. JUST in time for me to ride this bike down the hill

IMG_0693.jpg

When we walked out of MJT I saw some cool looking stuffed bats and reminded myself to come back later to get one for Cooper. He LOVES Batman and I knew he'd be all over this. One of Ecogirl's musts was the Anandpur Tea Company for some Silver Needle Tea and I found it. SCORE :woohoo: She just about burned her mouth off but still loved it.

IMG_0694.jpg

From here we headed straight to Kilimangaro Safari's so we could use our FP's. NO LINE!!!!!!! Minutes, I tell you. Minutes!!!! One last pic till I gotta sign off for the day. The kids will be home soon!

IMG_0698.jpg

Is that "The Lazy Report?" :lmao:

Hellooooooo R U kidding me??!! I live 5 mins away from MGM, we coulda had a meet!!!!!

Hey Jenny! Glad to see you around!

WE kind of decided we were going there on the way home from NYC :rotfl: :rotfl: Wasn't there talk of a DIS meet at Margaritaville when it opened at one point last year?

Those are some scary bats.

You didn't do Everest?!?! I totally thought you had done it!

Are those bats real? Yuck!

It sounds like you girls are having a blast!

Whew, two updates in a day! I almost missed that second one until I started wondering what bats everyone was talking about and went back to look :lmao: Another great update! That bicycle/rickshaw picture's so funny! and those bats are HUGE... wow. Glad it didn't rain too long!

Hi, all!! I’ve been down for the count with a really nasty case of strep throat  It's been miserable, but I think I'm finally on the mend :) . Maybe I caught it from sweaty guy :rotfl2: ! Just kidding ... but thanks to everyone for their expressions of sympathy. I’m not a huge germo-phobe, but that was just a little too much for my sensibilities! Anywhoooooo....I should probably let my half-healed body rest, but I wanted to throw out a few “first day” thoughts before Leyla moves on ......

Next one of the funniest things all week happened. Course you had to be there and I won't be able to 'splain it like we saw it but anyhoos.... We saw the HUGE gorilla,

There’s nothing I can add to this – nice job describing it, Leyla! It was, by far, one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen. I’m big into animal behavior, but no way I could have come up with an explanation for this one. I’ll chalk it up to Disney magic!!!! :wizard:

We looked at Everest.

"Well if YOU want we can get FP's"
"I thought YOU wanted"
"No YOU"
"No YOU"
"Well, Bella said she won't believe us unless we get a pic"
"Maybe we can get FP's and fib to her"
"Let's be liars"
"K"

Yeah. that's basically how our EE ride went. I know. We can't hang. Nice picture though, huh?!

Yep, that’s about how it went. We tried to convince one another (and, subsequently, ourselves) that it was a good idea, but the sound of people screaming somehow kept us at bay. I’m okay it with it. I still like myself :rotfl: In the end, though, I don’t think we wound up lying to Bella, because I don’t even remember her asking. Of course, she may have caught her unsuspecting mother when I wasn’t around .......... :sad2:

Now, a few minor additions to the First Day of Disney fun ....

First, a relatively accurate depiction of what Bella looks like most mornings, but PARTICULARLY at 3:30 in the morning .....
Disney1016.jpg

And poor, unsuspecting Cooper, never realizing that his mom is teasing him in his sleep....
Disney1019.jpg

Those of you familiar with Leyla’s first trip report will not be surprised to see that this was Pierre’s expression on the ME trip from MCO to the Lodge....:lmao:
Disney1009.jpg

One of the cool art pieces in the AKL lobby. There was some really neat stuff in there, and I only wish that I had thought to write down the origins of this (well, I did think of it, but, um, not until I uploaded my pics at home...... :upsidedow )
Disney1025.jpg

A great shot of one of the bats I had to share. I know they have a creepy reputation, but they are really fascinating animals and their contribution to ecology is absolutely critical. I could have stared at them even longer than we did! This one poked his head out a little at one point, but I just wasn’t fast enough to capture it. Still, I think it’s cool that you can see the bones of his wings ....

And, finally, the much anticipated Tree of Life pics:

Okay, gotta get some sleep ... hope everyone has a great Friday!!!!

Is that "The Lazy Report?" :lmao:
Yep :rotfl2: My DD really wanted to write a TR so she's doing it with some input from me :thumbsup2

Then he picks up this little rug that he had and put it on his head, continuing to walk like he was the shiznet to end all.
Sounds hilarious and very cute :rotfl2:

So does Bella know you didn't ride? :rotfl:

I LOVE the music in this show and even more excited that my best friend was here to experience it with me!
Awww :goodvibes

:lovestruc

OMG - Leyla, you SOOOO have to pardon me .... I must have really been under the influence of my 102.5 degree fever  because I TOTALLY meant to quote this and give you a smile and I TOTALLY forgot when I finally did my post!!!!! :guilty: I just realized it when I read DisneyJo's post. I loved the LK show, too, but the best part of it was that we were there enjoying it together!! :cloud9: LYLASAAF!

As always, I am loving your trip report! I cannot wait to hear about the cruise.

That one gorilla was hysterical :lmao: Yeah EE scares me, maybe one day Bella will force me on

:lmao: I can't believe you guys chickened out on EE! Love the bug glasses pic. Too cute! The story about the gorilla was funny. I guess he decided to put on a special show for you guys. :rotfl2:

I needed some more prodding for EE but I am determined one day!

Sounds like you and Ecogirl were having a blast on your girls-only trip to AK. :thumbsup2

Hey Lessa- we really did have a blast and it was nice going at my kind of pace. Although Ecogirl DID ask if we would actually stop to look at the animals :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

WE kind of decided we were going there on the way home from NYC :rotfl: :rotfl: Wasn't there talk of a DIS meet at Margaritaville when it opened at one point last year?

Those are some scary bats.

I ate at Mohegan Sun yesterday and found out it's opening Sept. 29 so I'm up for a meet anytime after that! I'm sure Troobabie would go and maybe Scott. I think Carrieannie could be a possibility.

You didn't do Everest?!?! I totally thought you had done it!

Are those bats real? Yuck!

It sounds like you girls are having a blast!

I'm ashamed at my wussieness  Yes those bats were very real, crazy huh?!

Hi Melissa, thanks! Hey did you see what I wrote to Hedy? Margaritaville is opening at Mohegan on Sept. 29 so we'll have to try and have a Dismeet sometime if you are up for it!

great update and pics

Thanks Scott! Same goes for you and Biff for a Margaritaville Dismeet.

:thumbsup2 Great update. I  those Strawberry fruit bars too.

Thanks Jenny. I love them too, but the coconut ones are my fav!

great pics

Hi! Thanks for reading!

Hey girl- I hope you have recovered and that everything is going well. Love the shots you got, they came out great!!

Yep :rotfl2: My DD really wanted to write a TR so she's doing it with some input from me :thumbsup2

So does Bella know you didn't ride? :rotfl:

Hi Jo- I'll have to check it out when I get sometime on Wed. I did tell Bella we chickened out and she took plenty of time to make fun of me

:snooty: Just kidding!!!!!!!

As always, I am loving your trip report! I cannot wait to hear about the cruise.

Hi T!!!!! How are you and the fam? Are you guys going to go on the cruise? I thought you had mentioned it before, anyways email me if you have any questions!

Off to Kilimanjaro Safari :cool1: and hopefully the killa line will be gone cause I'm all set with waiting! Ecogirl was still trying to sip her Silver Needle Tea without burining off half of her face. Sucker was H-O-T  She also forgot a hairband and long hair+muggy air= not gud! And I wasn't about to give mine up either :rolleyes1

We got to Safari and we only waited about 5 minutes, if even! We jumped into the jeep and took off. Mr. Guide wasn't the most exciting fellow but he did aigh't. Our first animals were the alligators. There are alot there, enjoying the sun and they are pretty big!

IMG_0695.jpg

As soon as we pulled around the corner into the savannah it was so pretty! We saw about 4 or 5 other jeeps all lined up and the guide made an announcement about an animal probably being in the way and we needed to be patient. Which, you know, is NOT a virtue of mine! Whatever it was finally moved and next up were the giraffes. We saw a baby one and it was SO adorable!

IMG_0699.jpg

There were loads of animals out but it was hard to get some of the shots. We'd all line up our cameras and Mr. Guide took off like a bat outta heck! Whatsupwiththat?! So, needless to say we missed many shots like the hippos and some of the antlered animals but I'd rather miss a shot in Disney than anywhere else :thumbsup2

Flamigo's

IMG_0700.jpg

We got lucky and saw the lion out. My first time seeing him on KS :yay: Great shot of the back of his head. He wasn't as comical as our buddy Mr. Gorilla.

IMG_0701.jpg

We saw the elephants too and there was a baby one, I didn't get a pick but Ecogirl might have so I'll let her post one if she did. :rockband: Over the bridge and through the woods, to Animal Kingdom we'll go :rockband: We some stupid and ecologically disrespectful kid toss something over the side and into the water. If he had been on our jeep there would have been a smackdown (I did have a smackdown later in the trip though :rolleyes1 ) Our safari had come to an end and we jumped off. I was ready for a DRINK! My first of the trip. Unless you count the Seabreeze I had at 7 am on the plane.

We decided to go to Dawa and as we walked up to the bar we saw these guys coming out jumping and chanting. I had to join in a bit!

IMG_0702.jpg

Drummered.jpg

I loved the bar set up and it was fairly cool under the awning. I took my usualy 15 minutes trying to decide what to drink before deciding a margarita on the rocks. EXTRA strong. Very good!

Before:
IMG_0704.jpg

After 1 drink ;)

IMG_0703-1.jpg

Just kidding. We asked a guy with zero personality to take a picture of us, not only is it a bad pic but a big gust of wind blew through.

For some reason a bunch of my pics are screwed up on photobucket so I can't post the bar pic I took. My pc also has a virus so I'm at the library right now. SO ANNOYING! Mr. Bartender took this pic

IMG_0706-1.jpg

We watched the Jungle Parade from our bar stools and enjoyed it.

Disney1084.jpg

That was my first time seeing the AK one. After it was over we decided to go over to Nemo

IMG_0707.jpg

There was about 15 minutes before showtime so we had enough time to walk over and look at some carts on the way. Man, the park was busy :crowded: I can't believe we had not waited in one line yet! I saw the Croc cart and decided to get Bella the Hannah Montana Jibbitz. We got to the theater, waited about 2 minutes and went right in SHOW MOJO! Talk about standing room only! OMG!!! A greeter very nicely opened up a bench for us and all of these rude people crammed on it with us on both sides. I told the people sitting next to us that there wasn't anymore room for the last person to sit down (I was already squished against Ecogirl) and they still pushed in. Apparently he dopesn't know me. I smacked my leg into him and held my ground. I called firsties. And I get it. Cause I'm the Boss.

I wasn't sure I had wanted to see the show because I knew you could see the people playing Nemo and the gang but I was VERY impressed. It was really god and worth it IMHO. Take it in if you get the chance!

IMG_0708.jpg

IMG_0709.jpg

My flash was off BTW! That's it for now, I gotta get some books out and have a days worth of things to do. Hopefully I can hit the library again tomorow and do another update! We still have more AK left and I'm sure you want to know if our line mojo holds up. And if Pierre and the kids made it through the day....

great update and pics.

I have to say the distorted pics are making me crazy, suffering from vertigo it is like I am having an attack. :lmao:

can't wait for more.
