Because I am Your Mom and I Say So! (October TR) 3/15 Food and Wine and More

Great update. I love Chloe's outfit & her hairbow! Both of the kids look adorable with the character pictures.

That is a awesome picture of all of you Dismoms & the kids!

Awe, thanks!

So far we were having a great day.:goodvibes

Great pictures at the Character Connection!

I had to laugh at the picture of the group of us. I love that you, Jill, and I are all looking at the camera, while every one of the kids are looking somewhere else!

Bummer that Noah didn't want to ride Test Track again, but I'm glad that you and Chloe got to go.

Thanks!

:laughing:Kids will be kids. They were too busy wanting to play! Atleast, they obliged us the picture.:goodvibes

Great Update!! We've never visited the Epcot Character spot. Do they only have the Fab 5 in there?

Thanks. Yep, just the fab five, but you only have to wait in line once for all of them. It worked out great that morning. We were out of there in less than 20 minutes (with waiting and seeing the characters!).

So, I am frustrated. I had a post almost finished and then I somehow deleted it.:headache: Now I know why I should type it in word and just copy it here. Hope to be back later today with a update!

Fun update! Ashley sorry it took me so long to come back and catch up with you. I had started the other night and had to stop and was sitting here waiting to go get Chloe off the bus and thought. I need to read Ashley's update!

sounds like you guys had a wonderful dis meet!! and great interaction at CC! I love that place I wish you could do that at DHS too!

Have a great day!

Thanks! That's okay!

We always have fun at CC. It's so easy to just stand in one line, and the wait is never too bad early. Would be nice to have that at DHS. It takes so long to see the characters there.

October 18- Part 2 Food and Wine Festival

I left off with Chloe and I meeting the guys to start our food and wine touring. Our first destination was Canada, so we headed to the right side of the WS. We didn’t get far, Chloe saw a smoothie of some kind that she wanted. Quickly, the booth was found to get her a strawberry smoothie. Noah wasn’t interested in one, but he did say he wanted a popsicle. I grabbed the kids some snacks out of our bag and told Noah he could have a popsicle when we found a stand that sold them. Back to our original plan of Canada! Soon we reached the Canada stand.

IMG_7024.jpg

Yum! Cheddar Cheese Soup! It was for me, but I did share a little with Chris. This was our view as we enjoyed the soup.

IMG_7025.jpg

Noah had finished his snack and was again asking for a popsicle. While I was at the New Zealand booth getting the Fisherman’s Pie,

IMG_7031.jpg

Chris was searching for popsicles. When I returned, pie in hand, Chris told me the only popsicle booth was near Mexico. We debated continuing our food and wine tour, but since we had told Noah yes on the popsicle and didn’t want to deal with the repercussions of changing our mind, we turned around and headed towards Mexico. Oh, and the Fisherman’s Pie was just okay, kinda fishy tasting if you ask me- not a lot of seasoning to the pie. When we reached the popsicle/ice cream kiosk no one was there. There was a little sign saying it would be open at noon, but it was 10 past. Instead of waiting for someone to show up I had remembered seeing a stand in Future World by Test Track. We decided to just go to that one. When we got there, Noah changed his mind… he wanted a Mickey ice cream bar instead. No big deal. I took a picture of our location, all the while thinking we were supposed to be eating our way around the world.

IMG_7033.jpg

Finally, Noah was set.

IMG_7037.jpg

Oh, and of course as soon as we unwrapped the bar Chloe said she wanted one too. Chris got back in line and I captured Noah enjoying his ice cream bar.

IMG_7035.jpg

IMG_7036.jpg

IMG_7038.jpg

Yay! Chloe had her one too!

IMG_7039.jpg

Now can we go back to enjoying food and wine? On the way back, we noticed the other ice cream/popsicle stand was open. Oh, well! At this point it just made more sense to start at Mexico, so that is what we did. Chris was really getting hungry, and even though he was looking at every stand, he just couldn’t find anything he wanted to eat. The problem was after we had poured over the lists of the foods that would be there the things we really wanted were toward the back of the showcase, so it would take us a little while to get there.

Yesterday, remember I had bought the passports? Well, that was also on the list. Oh, and our time was up for the KP mission,. We stopped in Mexico for the Kidcot station. The kids colored their Duffy bear on a stick and got their first stamps in their passport.

Then to Norway to pick up our kimmunicator for the KP mission.

IMG_7049.jpg

We stopped in for a quick troll picture and to get the passports and duffys stamped.

IMG_7054.jpg

And tried on the viking hats.

IMG_7053.jpg

IMG_7052.jpg

Our mission was in China. While Chris helped the kids out with the mission.

IMG_7048.jpg

During the mission we did get their passports and duffys stamped.
I was busy enjoying China and snapping those pictures.

With Chris now grumpy , and the kids needing lunch, it was decided we would make our way to the USA for lunch. This trip the kids had been stopping us a lot for penny presses and while we were passing by the outpost Noah saw one. While over there, Noah asked if I would take a picture of him. Of course, I had to say yes!

IMG_7087.jpg

He hardly ever wants his picture taken! Of course, even if he asks for his picture to be taken he doesn’t look at the camera! The cute country specific characters.

IMG_7086.jpg

With pennies pressed we continued on.

IMG_7089.jpg

Quick picture of Germany. No stopping here.

Italy. We just dropped in for the stamps. I did take a few pics though.

IMG_7092.jpg

IMG_7091.jpg

IMG_7090.jpg

We made it to the American Adventure!

IMG_7094.jpg

Looking out over the lagoon.
IMG_7093.jpg

Liberty Inn was such a welcomed sight.

IMG_7095.jpg

We were all hungry and even though I would have rather been eating at the different food and wine stands, I knew the kids needed to sit down and have lunch. In truth, Chris and I needed to rest awhile too, so we grabbed us some burgers, chicken nuggets, fries, and some big drinks and sat down to eat and rest our feet. We took our time eating and by the time we were finished our Soarin’ fp time was up. We began making our way back to the Land.

Japan. No stopping.

IMG_7096.jpg

Jasmine and Aladdin. We didn’t have much time for stopping, but the kids always enjoy seeing these two.

IMG_7101.jpg

Now even though most of our food and wine plans were thrown out the window, I did very much want to try the Grey Goose Limon Citron Slush in France. Chris opted for the Parisian Cosmo Slush. We had to drink on the go though, we had plans later that evening and we were needing to get out of the park by 5 pm. Chloe had my little camera (point and shoot) and thought it funny to take pictures of mom carrying both drinks.

IMG_7123.jpg

Then she got dad drinking!

IMG_7126.jpg

Noah didn’t want his picture taken though!

still going...

I remember Chloe wanted to stop and take a picture of everything. Here are some of her shots. Follow us on our journey to the Land.

She also talked us into this in Mexico.

IMG_7151.jpg

And now to Soarin’.

IMG_7153.jpg

Chloe doesn't take pictures of signs, she prefers the walls.
I finally had to take the camera away. It was time to soar over California.

When we got out it was close to 4, so we had enough time to go over to Innoventions for a special disney visa meet and greet.

Our last ride at Epcot.

PP photographer spotted and a couple of shots.

Bye bye food and wine, sorry we didn't get to try more!

IMG_7168.jpg

Where were we going next? Why was getting out of Epcot by 5 pm so important?

Up Next- The kids are fading fast!

Hey,

Sounds like you really had to hustle through World Showcase. There just NEVER seems to be enough time there. We did a little better than you, as we "food and wined" our way from Canada to Germany. We only had the one EPCOT day, which made it worse - though we did take a 2nd day later in the trip but didn't really enjoy F & W at all that day.

Nice TR with lots of pictures - really enjoying it. Great weather, too, huh? (We were at Typhoon Lagoon that day, and it really was a warm, beautiful day.)

Great update! and man that soup looks delish!! do you think Canada will have it again for the F&W this year. Do they post menus before the event? you have me re thinking my ADR thoughts the day we do Epcot.

Love the disney visa meet and greet, love the background!

Great update, I always love reading about Epcot days! :thumbsup2

I love the pictures Chloe took, ducks and walls! :rotfl:

The Visa meet and greet looks cute, I always forget about it, and I have a Disney Visa! :cool1:

We were rushing. I always feel like we do, even if we spend 2 days in Epcot! I like the the kids enjoy the KP missions, that way I can see more countries.:thumbsup2 I really wish we were able to eat more food at the festival. I had it all written down what we were interested in, but it just didn't make sense to grab a little here, and a little here when Chris and the kids were so hungry.

Glad you are liking the pictures. I think we must have taken 2000. Some aren't worth posting.

It was a beautiful day and it definitely was warm!

You can actually get the soup to go from Le Cellier. I guess you just walk into the restaurant and order it.:confused3 I do think it has been at F & W the past couple of years though, so hopefully.

late to the party but enjoying it so far!

Glad to have you! Thanks!

I have more duck pictures and some flower pictures too! She was enjoying all of WS!

I want to say the hours for the meet and greet are pretty short, that was our first visit. We were one of the last families let in, that was around 4 ish. It says in the times guide what the hours are, you'll have to check it out in October!

Good Lordy! You made me tired just reading about your trip(s) around World Showcase. Whew!

I loved the picture of Noah with the Mickey ice cream bar. What I wouldn't give to be eating a ice cream bar and being pushed in a stroller while at Disney.:rotfl:

Chloe is quite the little picture taker. She took some really good pictures.

Character Connection is the M&G area in Future World, it's as you turn right to go to Soarin/Land/Seas/Imagination.

It is also always our first stop at Epcot. Sounds like we should have just synched up our trips. You did almost exactly what we did the day before!

Thanks! I never knew about this but somehow we only ever managed to get over by Soarin' once in two years & that was during EMH when lots was closed! I will have to update my touring plan now!

Look below for skier_pete's reply. He explained it perfectly. Oh, and stay tuned for the disney visa meet and greet details (we visited that one later in the day-should get to it before you leave:rolleyes1). I will say for Character Connection the earlier the better. We had about a 10 minute wait first thing.
:goodvibes I'll wait:surfweb: till mid April to look for it then? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

I LOVE these pictures. Chloe was right...it is funny to get mom with two drinks!:thumbsup2:rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just saw the Visa Meet & Greet photos - nice! small benefit for the amount of charging & repaying I have been doing the past few months to earn some reward $ before our trip. So far I figure we could have a free lunch or perhaps just enough grey goose slushies for every time we walk past France. (that Lemon one ymmmmmm can't wait).....yeah, I'm thinking slushies...

I love Chloe's pictures...isn't it funny to see what kids think are "photo worthy"? and don't dare erase them! I nearly erased one of Katie's strange pics from the last time and boy did I catch grief over it!

That was a BIG update. I'm impressed! I wish I could get one that big done. It is taking me forever with mine.

The chedder soup looks so good, that is on my list to get next time.

The kids look cute eating their ice-cream. You're a good mom to throw your plans out the window to get a Mickey ice-Cream! :thumbsup2

All of your pics are great & the Tink ones are adorable!

Aaaahhh - what a life!

He certainly has it good, doesn't he!

Cute. :lovestruc

Thank you! She can be my little angel, sometimes.:rolleyes1

Enjoying your TR; can't wait to hear about the rest! :)

Thanks for joining in! Wow, 3 kids and 1 on the way. You certainly must be a busy lady!:goodvibes

I was so happy for our little rest at Liberty Inn. My feet were definitely tired!

I always have to ask Noah if we can switch and he can push me. He always tells me I am too big for him to push. He certainly has it made!

I love her point of view on the pictures. Thanks!

:goodvibes I'll wait:surfweb: till mid April to look for it then? :rotfl2::rotfl2:

really pretty Jasmine here. ;)

:laughing:She is such a little ball of trouble. It was all because Chris was laughing at me trying to hold the drinks and walk without spilling them. Atleast she got Chris too.

I hear ya on the disney visa. We have started charging our groceries and gas to get the points. It adds up very slowly. Yes, would be good for the slushies. I will be getting atleast one Lemon Citron Grey Goose Slush this trip. Another thing I am looking forward to is trying out La Cava del Tequila in Mexico, must have a good margarita!

I swear Chlo knows every picture she has taken. If I delete it I would be in big trouble. I have alot of lanyard pictures, but most of them are blurry. She likes to take pictures of the pins. When she was 3 she would take pictures of all her toys. I use to say she was documenting in case we got rid of anything, then she would have the evidence!

Thanks! When I start writing it is hard to stop! I would rather do shorter updates more frequently, but that doesn't seem to work out. You are doing good, we went only a month after you and I haven't made it through day 3. I'm gonna get to the point that I have forgotten some of it. I only took notes through day 4, then it is only pictures!:scared1::rotfl2:

You have to try the soup!

Thanks! :laughing:Good mom and a sucker could be interchangeable.
