Just heard the news show is closing in July 2007

and it's replacement is Lil Mermaid which will open in Nov. 2007

Our family has seen B&B twice. we love it. I am so sorry to see it go. I know lately attendance has been down and they were offering 1/2 price seats.

Can't imagine Mermaid an entire broadway show... but then again I thought they could never pull tarzan off on broadway (and they didn't)

thank god for Mary Poppins!!!

But I will anxiously await the previews this fall 2007.

For all who haven't seen B&B on Broadway, grab your tickets now. It is just wonderful

I can't find anything online about BATB closing...and I've actually heard the opposite about attendance, especially when Donny Osmond was part of the cast (as for 1/2 price seats, actually it's not uncommon for ANY Broadway show to sell last minute tix at half price...if people are willing to wait last minute like that. Many of those shows also do the same thing when on tour...DH and I have seen several shows like that. The Lion King did the same thing through our town when it came through). Anyway, there's nothing on the official BATB website, so I guess it's just a wait and see. Unless you have a link to the news item...I'd love to see it.

The only thing I could find about The Little Mermaid were trial runs being held in Denver beginning in June 2007 with no official word on if and when it would be brought to Broadway.

BATB was a GREAT show on Broadway. I saw it twice. I kinda thought it maybe on it's way out, anytime they move a show from one theater to another is NOT a good sign. The same thing happened a few years ago to another great show, (not Disney) The Scarlet Pimpernel. I'm sure the Little Mermaid will be great. Anything Disney is!

There's nothing on the official Disney webpage, but I heard it on the new this morning. I found verification of the end date on several websites. Here are two-

(end date listed under Show Dates under the Playbill cover)

The Variety article also backs up the Little Mermaid rumor.

I'm sad to see it leave Broadway-- I feel like my daughter is a tad too young to see it now, but I'll probably bring her for her 4th birthday right before it closes.

It was on the front page of the New York Times Arts section yesterday as well. July 29 is the last date, I believe.

Trust me...being from NJ and only 30 minutes away from NYC..it is true Look at playbill.com or broadwayworld.com .it is official...As far as being able to get last minute tickets NO WAY for Lion King as well as any hot shows. It is impossible to see a hit show on Broadway with last minute tickets. Jersey Boys is year wait now. Maybe in your state with a different cast but not here on Broadway.

Your best chance of even seeing B&B is now during the winter months and even then you do not get the best seats.

Don't mean to sound like a know it all, but I have been to all Disney Broadway Shows as well as current top hits. I go to NY often and know what I am talking about.

B&B is CLOSING. Reason: Poor attendance, that is why they were offering half price seats. Which is also the reason they have Donny Osmond on board to bring in people.

I seen this show for the 3rd time last year on a Saturday during February and the theatre was 1/2 empty.

Looking forward to Lil Mermaid although I am secretly hoping that in 10 yrs they bring back B&B so that I can see it again with my grandkids

My dd's dance teacher auditioned for Little Mermaid - can't wait!!!

We have tickets for 3/14 matinee and paid $55 for orchestra seats. I received an email about the lower price because we had bought tickets for The Lion King when it was in Philly, but I've since seen $60 or $65 tickets for general purchase.

Can't wait to see it. I loved Mary Poppins!
