We've been to WDW twice and both times missed this show due to the scheduling. We're going to make it a priority this time. Is it difficult to get into this show....does the theater accomodate a large crowd? I don't want to wait in a long line only to be have to wait a couple of hours for the next show.

When we were there last June, we were able to walk in and have a fine seat just as the show was starting...and it was a pretty crowded time of year.

Same here....we always managed to miss seeing it on prior trips, but, in December DH and I made it a point. Our two DS's had no interest so they did RnR while we were at the show. It was very good.

your timing all depends on weither you want to sit in the sun or sit in the shade.

Make sure to get there early enough to see the pre-show ~ 4 For a Dollar. They are great! :cool1:

We always arrive about 10-15 minutes early and have never had a problem finding a good seat. Also, I agree with the previous post...4 for a dollar are great!

Don't mean to be a downer, but I found the show to be a disappointment. It was too short, and while the first part told the story, they basically skip the entire middle except for the title theme song to fit in all the musical numbers. It is good if you are going to listen to the singers and look at the costumes...but personally, I had been hoping for more of a movie reenactment. Granted...I have been to Disney 8 times and have seen it every trip, :rotfl:

We have seen this show many times. What is this "4 for a dollar"? Sometimes I can miss stuff right under my nose, so please fill me in.

How would you advise I sit in the shade?:teeth:

I have been to this show dozens of times.
I always make a point of arriving 25-30 minutes before showtime (theater opens 30 minutes before) to get better seats, and see "4 for a Dollar" preshow.

The theater is not fully enclosed (not sealed and air-conditioned), but it is compleletly COVERED by a substantial roof system and the sides are all fully shaded (they have an elaborate system of fans and ducts for cooling).

There are some higher bleacher seats way in the back (overflow section). Appearantly, at some parts of the day (sun in a different position) these over-flow seats are in the sunlight.

BTW, "Festival of the Lion King" and "Tarzan Rocks", both at DAK, had similar "outdoor/indoor" theaters.
FotLK's was refurbed to be fully enclosed and air conditioned a couple of years ago. "Tarzan Rocks" just closed so the theater could undergo the same treatment... of course when they re-start shows in THERE, it will be the new "Finding Nemo, the Musical".

All this to say, the theater for "Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage" MIGHT have some A/C in its future.

For what it's worth, they drop the rope 30 minutes before showtime. There is little point to showing up early than that. But if you want to be sure to see Four for a Dollar (which is even better than the actual show), be there 20 minutes before showtime.

You DO NOT want to sit in the overflow section. It appears to be covered, but we were scortched by the sun and it was HOT!! DD loves Beauty and the Beast, but she was so miserable, she wanted to leave. We have seen the show before in the regular seating area. But we found it sometimes hard to see everything on the stage. We are not planning to worry about seeing this show again.
