Beating a Dead Horse, a.k.a. What to Wear?!?!?

Since there haven't been enough threads about what to wear during dinner (clothes, yes I know), I have a question. ;)

On the seven day cruise, I noticed that the navigators indicate what type of dress is encouraged per evening. You'd think this would be self-explanatory, but I have a year-old child, and very little in the way of brains these days. So...what if you are at Lumiere's on a "Casual" night? Should gentlemen still wear jackets, or is it truly casual (polos and khakis)? So confused...

Thanks!!

PirateWife, wear whatever you, or DH, or DC, will be comfortable wearing :jester: pirate: princess: .
You'll see responses for both sides of the argument, the way DW and I figure it, on a casual night most will be casual (khakis and a polo) and on a formal night most will dress up and we pack comfortably for both. We also like being able to dress up on vacation since it's not something we do every night @ home.
Remember, you're on vacation, so have fun and be comfy. :wave2:

Amen on that "have fun and be comfy" thing. In fact, that is going to be my new motto for every day!

Thank you both! I think I'm going to make DH wear a tie and jacket...he looks so verrry nice! ;)

Lumiere's on casual night...definately no jacket.

Khaki's and a polo shirt all nights except semi formal and formal.

Have fun!

Packing Tip for the guys in your life:

If and ONLY IF the weather is not too hot and not too humid - the nights you wear a polo to dinner, the next day you can wear the same shirt (if you didn't get it to pitted/stinky partying the night before). You should be able to pack 3 or 4 less shirts (therefor less stuff in the suitcase).

Don't try this during July August and probably Sept. because of the heat/humidity. When we go during that time period we take twice as many clothes because you can really go through them fast.

Great Idea.

I've added to my best tips list!
