While I'm not opposed to trying for an ADR at BOG for our trip next May I'm just not that into BOG breakfast menu and can't see us doing a second long sit down (assuming we get an ADR for CRT). I still don't have a handle on how lunch works there, but we usually eat as quickly as possible mid-day. If we don't eat there, can we see much/any of the castle otherwise?

What else is there to do/see in that area. I see Gaston's Tavern, but is that much of anything? Yes - this sounds like a newbie thread, but I keep trying key words in my searches and feel like I am only grasping bits and pieces to this part of NFL.

Thanks in advance.

Since Beast's castle is a restaurant,
if you want to see what the decor offers inside you need a breakfast, lunch or dinner reservation.

There is much to see outside in NFL.
I recommend that you spend some time strolling the entire area(s,)
and make a FP+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle.

I would recommend trying to get a BOG lunch ADR and pre-ordering. The food is good, you'll get to see the inside of the castle and, because you pre-ordered, your wait time to get your food and eat will be streamlined. Lunch at BOG takes much less time than dinner.

Gaston's Tavern is billed as CS, but its mostly snacks and beverages. Here's the menu: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/gastons-tavern/

Attractions in NFL include Enchanted Tales with Belle, SDMT, Journey of the Little Mermaid, and Arials Grotto. You can find info on each of these on the official website. Use the map to familiarize yourself with their locations.

If you get a lunch ADR and pre-order your food, it will be as quick as any CS can be. We walked straight in to a table and had our food within 10 minutes. it really is beautiful inside and worth making the effort! Gaston's tavern has some nice snacks, but not anything that I would consider a meal.

I will emphasize that lunch at BOG is extremely shareable. My daughter ordered a sandwich and I ordered the braised pork. Neither of us finished half of our meal. So, my recommendation is to get a lunch reservation. Order ahead if you want, but ordering there doesn't really add much (if any) time. Order light and you'll be finshed quickly.

I would concur with the others about getting the lunch reservation. You won't be disappointed. It also gives you the flexibility to eat in any of the three areas of the castle. With a dinner reservation, you're stuck sitting where they put you.

P.S. When I saw you're post title, I was trying to figure out what football had to do with not eating at BOG... :)

Breakfast and lunch at BOG are both QS and work in the same manner. The only differences between these meals versus other QS locations are that you have the option to pre-order your meal through MDE, you must have an ADR (this is for crowd control), and they bring the food to your table once you're inside. Aside from these things, you still seat yourself, pay before your sit down, and get your own drinks. You can make the experience as long or as short as you want. I do think it's worth it, and we preferred lunch over dinner at BOG.

Thank you for all the responses and the links.

This helps me piece together some of what I was reading from my searching. Thank you!!

I appreciate so many of you underscoring the benefits of lunchtime dining. We often grab post-rush lunches at CHH; I can see doing this for BOG. I'll head to their site and figure out the latest they do lunch.
Thank you.

FP+ for Enchanted Tales with Belle.
This is totally going to be a FP+ goal for us. Thanks.

I have been looking at the maps - my poor brain keeps "seeing" the old Fantasyland. This trip is way overdue. ;)
I'm very excited to see the Pete's Silly Side Show area! Thanks.

We only had desserts and drinks there. Didn't care for the menu, but wanted to see inside the castle. We walked around a little after we ate. The restaurant is beautiful.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing could work. Like evening dessert or something. I'd hate to gum up getting to evening events. But I think I'll look at that, too. Although lunch seems ok.

You probably figured this out already, but BoG serves lunch until 2:30. I believe the latest possible lunch ADR you can get is 2:25.

Count me as another Disboarder who prefers the BoG lunch over dinner. ::yes::

Do lunch. The food is so much better than anything else CS, and going at dinner time just for dessert would be a huge time-sucker, and that sounds like something you want to avoid. They do have wonderful desserts, though. Try the grey stuff, it really is delicious!

If you decide on lunch, do pre-order your food, I didn't do this. I decided to go for spontaneity and wait till lunchtime to see what I am in the mood for to eat...
Silly me :rolleyes2 , it resulted in long lines and a lot of frustration.

I don't think anyone has mentioned this but the Royal Majesty Makers in NFL are a lot of fun. You'll have to check the times schedule, but right now they're performing fairly regularly until midday.

Jsut FYI - i don't think it has been mentioned- Beast is only there at dinner. After you eat, you go see him in the library.

I had to check and see what BOG had to do with the National Football League

I saw it was open until 2:30, but had not found where last ADR was 2:25. Thanks

But - then there is this. Thank you. Ugh. That adds a dimension.

Get outta town! I consider myself a pretty faithful lurker and this is the first time I've seen reference to this. We would LOVE this. We love this kind of thing. Thanks!

Sorry - changed the title. I thought that was a generally accepted abbreviation. :P
Then again - my kids did have football on their minds yesterday pretty steadily. ;)
