Not sure why I thought this would be Table Service all day and not a Counter Service experience during lunch.

Does anyone know what the menu might look like for dinner?

Is it really going to be a counter service at lunch? Or is this just being confused with Gaston's Tavern, which will be a counter service?

The opening is at least a year away and there is no menu yet.

I did read somewhere that it'd be CS for lunch and TS for dinner. However, I'd take any reports about this new restaurant very lightly right now. Disney has a habit of frequently changing things up for their existing locations, and as TDC Nala mentioned, this isn't slated to open until late 2012, so it's entirely possible that Disney will revamp their vision between now and then.

I also wouldn't anticipate a menu being released until at most one month before the restaurant opens.

We might push our trip back to Jan. 2013 again, instead of Nov. 2012, just in case this isn't open. My daughter is a HUGE Beauty and the Beast fan and I cannot go if it's not open yet. She will love this restaurant. I did read on the blog that's on the home page of disboards that its CS at lunch at TS at dinner, but a lot can change in 18 months.

Doesn't seem logical that it would be CS at lunch if they are already building a separate CS. I can't see it being Gaston's Tavern during the day and Be Our Guest in the evening, although that is possible. Also, MK is badly in need of extra TS space, while it already has loads of CS space and some of their CS are even closed unless it gets busy.

I've heard it'll be TS at dinner only, but they do really need more TS options, so I'm hoping it'll be open for lunch as well. Plus with the tavern, Fantasyland will already have two CS options.

According to the blog, it will be a CS for lunch and a TS for dinner. I am guessing the TS portion of the restaurant is going to be really hard to get into once it opens. Will make for getting into CRT much easier.

I really wish there were more TS it would make making ADR's soooo much easier.
The DIS podcast posted this today:

The new "Be Our Guest" Restaurant will indeed be CS during the day and TS in the evening.

"The castle, home to the title character from “Beauty and the Beast”, will house the “Be Our Guest” restaurant. The restaurant will seat up to 550 guests, serving counter service during the day and table service in the evenings. Surrounding the castle will be Belle’s Village, including Gaston’s Tavern, Bonjour! Village Gifts and Maurice’s Cottage (the home of Belle’s father)."

That's pretty ridiculous on Disney's part if it's true. Magic Kingdom has more CS than it needs most of the year and is desperately in need of TS restaurant space (at lunch too). Can't see why they would need to add CS space for another 550 diners when they have three CS (Diamond Horseshoe lunch, Tomorrowland Terrace Cafe and Tortuga Tavern) that are not even operating most of the year. But I guess if they have decided to do it this way, they are anticipating some sort of need.

It makes me wonder what the dining area will look like. If it can transition from counter service to table service from one meal to the next, I doubt it will be as cool as dining in Cinderella's castle. That will be disappointing as we were already hoping it would be like that.

Isn't the new Mexican restaurant at EPCOT like this? I haven't been to WDW since that opened, but I think I read that somewhere. If so, this seems to be a trend for Disney.

Yes it is. We ate there for lunch in January - ordered and received our food at the window outside (I think it's called La Cantina?) and then went into the dining room of La Hacienda to eat. At first I thought maybe they were letting us in there because it was so cold out but then when we got home I read here that it's CS during the day.

Can't wait to check out the B&tB restaurant.

The new restaurant at Epcot, in Mexaco, does this same thing. I'd look there for a quasi-example of how they might do it.

La Cantina de San Angel by day, La Hacienda de San Angel by night.

It does do it that way, but that makes more sense, since Epcot already has so many TS restaurants, where MK really lacks.

I was really hoping this would be a nice TS in MK that isnt signature.. I had all kinds of possibilties in my head..

I also wonder how nice it will be if its CS/TS.. Unless you order CS food outside of it and just sit inside, like in Epcot. I agree MK doesnt need any more CS really, its very lacking in good TS. Tonys is ok, CRT I only like breakfast, CP I didnt like at all and I just have no desire for Stouffers type food at LTT, I can get that at home, LOL.

So now I'm wondering what Gaston's Tavern will be? (Obviously not a real tavern-- some would say unfortunately-- since MK is dry.)

It would be weird to have another CS place in the area.... maybe an ice cream/dessert place?

I know about this restaurant, but I thought this new one would be different. It is supposed to be a castle, so I was hoping it would be nicer than CS. If it is splitting between CS and TS, I doubt it will be as nice as CRT.

Except that La Cantina and La Hacienda are separate restaurants. La Hacienda isn't CS by day. It's just used as seating for La Cantina. La Cantina doesn't close up in the evening and turn into La Hacienda.

If this works the same way as the Mexican restaurants do, it would likely mean that Be Our Guest would not serve for lunch but would provide seating for Gaston's Tavern.

I bet thats it Nala! Probably just seating for Gastons BUT that still makes me wonder how it will look when the description says "Beats elegant ball room" I have a hard time seeing CS seating being in an elegant ballroom..LOL
