I just read in a response to another thread that Bear in the Big House is "soon to be closed". Please, say it isn't so... Does anyone know when it is closing. My 2 year old is a huge fan and we loved this show in March. We were looking forward to it again for our December trip.

I found this on the official disney site under the '100 Years Celebrations' link:

'The cast of Bear in the Big Blue HouseTM will be joined on stage by pals from other Playhouse Disney favorites like Rolie Polie Olie and Disney's The Book of Pooh. It's a magical, musical celebration direct from the Disney Channel. '

so it looks as though Bear is here to stay.

My friends' last day in the World is August 1, (she too had heard this rumor) and she called MGM and was told August 1 was the last day for Bear by HIMSELF....the new show will begin with more Playhouse Disney guests, but I don't know WHEN....I'd like to know this myself if there will be any time when there WON'T be a show, because I will be there at the end of Sept & would like to see the new show....

Ohhhhhh nooooooooo!!! I read on another thread that it was closing on the 4th which is the day we get there! I was so hoping to see it one last time and tape it. My youngest LOVES Bear. If it is true that it's closing on the 1st then we wont bother going to MGM the first day. My youngest will be so sad if he doesn't get to see Bear. I wonder if I could call MGM directly and find out when it is closing for sure.

Thanks for the information. Glad to hear that the show is changing but not completely ending!! DS is also a big fan of Pooh, so the playhouse theme should be fun also.

I was very upset when I read that The Bear in the Big Blue House attraction would be closing on August 4 (We are going August 9-18). I decided to contact WDW. Below is the answer to my question. Hope this helps.

that Bear and Friends including Rolie Polie and Pooh will be back in October. Of course, we'll be there in September.

From what they said in the reply, it seems that they won't be closing the attraction so you should be able to see the Bear in Sept. Of course my DS loves Rolie and we will be in WDW next week (Aug 9-18). When I get back I'll post any information that I am able to find out while I am there.

Some one posted on another thread that the Bear Show closed on August 4. They also said that it will not re-open until October. Seems to contradict what the email response from Disney was......but that would not be the first time Disney gave out wrong info. As an FYI the info on Bear closing came from someone who works at MGM.......Bummer my son is loved the Bear show and was looking forward to it when we are there August 19 - 26. We will work around it.....

Well we just got back from WDW and there is bad news. The information that I was given was absolutely INCORRECT!!! Bear in the Big Blue House is CLOSED. They are redoing the show and it will open in OCT. But you can see and take pics wiht Bear. Boy were we mad when we found out! And my kids were soooooo disappointed!
