Bear Down Chicago Bears!!! - The OFFICIAL Bears Thread!!

Ok, I'll give you that. Perhaps attack was too strong of a word. But have you followed her on the other threads of her attacking every Chicago fan around? Apparently not or you wouldn't have found my post so out of this world. Why would anyone with such hatred for the Chicago Bears or their fans come to a Chicago thread? Oh that is right to cause trouble. Fact is we beat them fair and square, just like the Colts just beat us fair and square. It is only a game that I realize, but when that other poster is attacking people for what others do, that is just too much. Really, before you jump in a thread, maybe some research as to the history should be done.

Hey Bears fans don't worry about those Saints fans, its just some sour grapes. Pretty sad! And yea I read the other thread, plus got attacked, yea attacked by some Saints fans myself. :sad2:

Anyway, I really feel bad for you guys. its tough!

But like the Steelers you guys will be back next year. Great Game!

Even though the outcome was not what you all wanted, the Bears played a good game!

My mom is a major Bears fan (I remember that we bought the "Superbowl Shuffle" video in '85 :) ), and my brother is a huge Colts fan. I was glad to see both of them in the big game.

Not all Saints fans did anything and not all Bears fans did anything either. Ugh, never mind.

Anyway, it was a great game in spite of the horrible conditions. Better luck next time. :thumbsup2

Please research my posts, you clearly have me mistaken for someone else.:sad2:

Regardless of what you've said in other posts, you felt you had to come here and dig up other trouble. This was a great thread of Bears Fans, just wanting to talk about their team. It's a shame you had to come in here and sour it up. :sad2:

As for the origninal Bears Fans posters on this thread - I haven't been on to visit until now...I guess there is always next year huh?

Honestly, if you really really think about it, we gave the game away. Therefore, I'm happy for the Colts that they won...I don't think we played like a Superbowl Championship team yesterday.

But I can't wait till fall! :yay:

TigerKat - I would really like to know why you felt it was necessary to hijack this thread the way you did.

Thousands of individual Chicagoans helped when Hurricane Katrina hit. Many Chicago area businesses sent money, supplies etc to help out. But let a few drunken idiots say something to your people and you have to go and reminds us all about it?

Makes you think twice about helping out next time.

:grouphug: to all you Bears fans. Been there done that 4 years in a row with the Bills....it feels so bad to lose the big one.

BUT remember....the Bears did something that how many other teams didn't....they MADE it to the Superbowl..it was a fun season for you guys and while it's over...remember the good times.

I honestly don't know how they were able to hold onto that football at all last night and all my MIL kept saying was "I'd be really mad if I spent that much money and tickets and had to sit in the downpour all game."

It's a depressing day but it's been fun, right????????

That's BEARS weather baby!!! Unfortunately, it didn't work to our advantage.
You're right we made it to the Superbowl, and as Chicagoans we are pretty use to losing (Right Cubs fans??;) ) I still love my Bears and I look forward to next season. Now I hope we sign Lovey Smith to a new contract. I love a coach named Lovey.

Exactly! :thumbsup2 At least we made it to the Superbowl, which I'm proud of them for that. It's more than our beloved Cubs will ever get

I second that...

I just went to the colts thread and gave them a big ole congrats-it was heartbreaking to have to do it-but I meant it. Well deserved victory.

I am sad we did not win-but we still are the NFC champs and I think the only big player that is up for free agency-Briggs and I hope he stays I think he wants to.

Do you'all know that when I saw Hester run back the ball on the first play I said to myself-Heck Ohio State did this and then FL won the whole dang thing. I hope that doesn't happen-( I do have this correct right?)

Self-fufilling prophecy right

Our local newspaper ran an article yesterday reminding us why we should hope for a Colts victory. They reminded us of all the horrible things done to our fans while in Chicago. Anything Katrina related is an unhealed open wound for me as I lost my father as a direct result of the storm. I buried my mother five days ago, whose condition was worsened as a direct result of the storm.

So why, you ask, did I post? The answer to that would be - TOTALLY FRAYED NERVES. Should I have posted - NO and I apologize for "hi-jacking" your thread.

As I stated earlier, I am obviously being confused with another poster as I have never attacked your city or your fans as a whole, just the idiots who were responsible.

I'd love to see that article. Can you please post a link or at least the name of that paper. Did it really say "all the horrible things done to our fans while in Chicago."? cuz that's a load of crap and I will tell your editor that in writing. Sure a couple drunks said something stupid...I'm sure that NEVER EVER happened in NOLA right?

Second I live and work downtown and saw the Saints fans and we completely cordial to them, as I am to every single tourist I can pick out on Michigan Ave.

I donated to helping Katrina victims. I work for a social service agency and help place Katrina victims in the Chicagoland area. Please tell me that name of that paper. After I get over my "totally frayed nerves" I will sit down and calmly compose a letter to the editor.

First off, I am sorry about your loss of your parents. I said I wouldn't respond to you anymore, but I will in this instance. Maybe you should go back and reread your posts regarding the Division Championship Game against the Saints where the Bears won. Maybe unintentional, but it seemed like you were attacking each and every one of us. We ALL apologized for this drunk or just stupid guy's ignorance. But that wasn't enough for you. No, you had to respond with cutting remarks each time you answered. Go back really and read it. Maybe it was because of your loss, which now perhaps makes more sense. But at the time you were like a dog with a bone. How many people on that thread asked you what you were looking for, blood or something? I agree with what others have said, we also helped out after Katrina, and now question if we should have? It really makes me think twice and not want to help out again this year......I am sorry that things are not even close to being back to normal. We did what we could, as I am sure other states did as well from all the newspaper coverage. But your paper running the article of how their fans were treated and rehashing AGAIN, as in a "we got what we deserved by losing" is going to stop me from helping out again. Why would they stir the pot again? Give me a break too, it is just a game. Don't you guys want to heal? Or just bring up again and again what some nasty Bears fan did. How could that be constructive? And that is journalism? Pretty poor if you ask me. It's a shame, but my money can now go elsewhere. Perhaps in Florida. You know what? There are still areas devastated by Charley and I have yet to see anyone posting about how no one helped them or how it is still not finished down there. It just feels like a slap in the face and being ungrateful for what anyone has done. I also remember how the Katrina victims were upset about only receiving sandwiches/chips/water when in the Astrodome and it being reported on the World News. Seemed pretty ungrateful if you ask me. Don't even get my bil who lives in Houston started on what he thinks of the behavior of the people sent there to live. He has story after story to tell and none of them are pretty. My point to this? Everyone makes mistakes, that is life. Thanks for the apology about hijacking the thread, but really typing in caps is like yelling out loud which really is unnecessary. I would also like to have a link to the newspaper article. If that is true, I would like to say a thing or two to the editor about keeping bad feelings alive. Now I am finished. Post away, because I will never respond to you about this again.
