Ok, we've done Disney the last 7 years and I have to say the kids are tired of it. This past March, they didn't even want to ride half of the rides since they are "boring" in their opinion. They are now at the age that they want to ride the few thrill rides at WDW and then go back to the pool and swim.

I have been looking into Beahces Turks and Caicos and I think they would love this! Waterpark, XBox games room, beach parties for teens and "dive-in" movies!! And best of all the price for a week will be about $1000 LESS than WDW!!!! All inclusive!

Would love to get feedback if anyone has been.

Can't speak to Beaches but my friends just got back from T&C and said it was the most beautiful place they have ever been. They have literally travelled the world. They are very picky so for them to say a place is beautiful it really is.

I must say I agree that Turks & Caicos is a very beautiful place. My cousin worked there as a chef and said it was amazing. Can't speak specifically to this resort however, I am sure that you will love it there. :goodvibes

We were booked to go last Oct but got cancelled due to hurricanes so we ended up taking an parents only to Sandals Jamaica.
That being said, once our children are just a little bit older, one is still insde me :), we plan on visiting here instead of WDW one year.
My friend just got back from here & said it was very nice & would love to return. Although she said the Beaches Negril was just as nice.

I haven't been but it sounds really nice. Maybe the kids would enjoy Universal and Busch Gardens. They have more big thrill rides for them.

In my previous job I had sent many clients here....they all loved it!!! People from all walks of life as well, everyone thought T&C was beautiful and the resort was top notch! The Beaches/Sandals people really do it right.

I think its a good option for families who like Disney, because of all of the activities to do.

Hi Sue M. We did Universal and IOA 2 years ago for a week and then just went to 1 Disney Park. They absolutely enjoyed it more than Disney (more thrill rides and not boring - new experiences) but I really want to give them a taste of culture (outside north america) but I'm fussy enough that it needs to be NICE!

Besides, mamma need a swim up bar this vacation!!

May I ask if you are getting this price through a tour operator with air and if yes who? Anytime I look at the Beaches resort I find a basic room to be in the $5-6, 000 US range for a week and I can do a cruise for less than that.

In all fairness, I have a quote of 5700CAD all in but I am using some aeroplan points. Without points it is 6700CAD with Air Canada Vacations and I am upgrading my room by one category.

Agree a cruise is most likely cheaper but I get seasick:sick:

My trip to Disney last year in March cost us easily 6K CAD but we did stay in deluxe accommodations and I am factoring in food and berverages.

Remember that cruise may look cheaper but wait till you get your bill at the end! I have done 3 cruises and we have always had a bill of 600US or more at the end for beverages, bingo, spa, etc. Plus the excursions can run $100pp!

Beaches is all included (except the spa).

I would so go to Turks and Caicos!

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Make us jealous ;o)

We loved Beaches Turks & Caicos. It was very clean, great food, great beach and fun activities for the kids. I recommend it! But, the "waterpark" is more comparable to a deluxe Disney pool than an actual water park.

I would suggest a cruise. There is so much to do on the ship that in a week you can't possibly do it all. Then there are the ports which you do not have to do excursions if you don't want to. It is like many vacations in all rolled into one and you just enjoy!! My kids learned to surf on the Freedom of the Seas. It is endless and the food is awesome.:dance3:

Sounds like a great alternative. I have heard great reviews of Beaches resorts. Aeroplan rewards is a great bonus also.

Suburbnmommy - I sent you a pm.

The waterpark at Beaches Turks has increased in size and is definatley not like any deluxe resort I have stayed at - 6 water slides, a lazy river, splash pad, and surf machine! Oh and of course that kids swim up bar with candy floss!! And let's face it, then you have the beach and all of those activites.

We got an excellent quote from twinsburg travel for about 3800.00 for deluxe room... I want the concierge though for about 4500.00. This is before airfare of course.

They are only quoting $800 more for concierge - oh wait - I am confusing with the Butler Service. Now THAT would be a vacation! Sounds like a good rate but the flights can be nasty on their own, at least out of Canada they are.

I need to find a Beaches chat board!

If you find one let me know. I would love to chat about it.

Butler service would be devine but way to pricey for me.

Thanks for this thread!

After reading it, I decided to check out Beachs Turks and Caicos for my January trip with my 13 year old daughter.

Prices are great ( comperable to the Carnival Dream when you add tips, drinks and activities on the ship and excursions ) and we've not been to T&C before. DH and I both dive so that's also a plus! :thumbsup2

If anyone else has info, keep it coming!

I did find a chat board on trip advisor but it has a lot of old posts. I just googled Beaches Turks and Caicos dicussion board and it took me there.

Hey if anyone books for Jan 2-9 let me know - we'll pack our LGMH!!
