Beaches Resorts in Jamaica

Hi there! DH and I just arrived home last night from a 2nd honeymoon to Sandals in Ocho Rios, and LOVED it!! It was kind of shocking to see the difference in Jamaica over the past 12 years, but as usual, I fell in love with the people and the spirit of the country.

We had such a fabulous time, we started thinking about taking DD10 and DS7 down to one of the Beaches Resorts, perhaps Negril. We really like the Sandals chain, and the level of service; we also want a resort that offer extensive kids' activities to keep the kids busy if we need some "alone" time - something, by the way, that we discovered how DESPERATELY we need more frequently than every 12 years!

Any thoughts? Anyone been to the Beaches Resorts in Jamaica?

We took the family to Beaches Negril in December 04 and we all LOVED IT!!

I love the Couples resort next door better, but with kids I would go back to Beaches in a heartbeat.

Well, I can tell you that they take security on the beach very seriously!!

DH and I went on our honeymoon to Sandals Nigril. One morning we walked way down the beach and ended up at Beaches. The security guard on the beach stopped us right away and we had to show our Sandals ID AND they called Sandals to confirm it. They then let us in and we ate breakfast there. It seemed like a very nice resort.

Never been to Beaches Negril but have been to Sandals Negril and have taken the kids to Beaches Turks and Caicos twice.

We love Sandals and Beaches. The Beaches in Jamaica is great. DH and I have visited and ate dinner there.

I would look into Turks and Caicos too. The Beaches there is just simply amazing.
