beaches near Disneyland?

heading back to CA for my 2nd time and decided to do things i wish i had done on my first trip, such as visit one of the many CA beaches! are there any close to disneyland? I will be at the Disneyland hotel if that makes a difference. Also thinking of doing Universal for a day...not sure how to get there but I know there has to be a way people do it all the time. thanks in advance for any help

Depends, will you have a rental car? That opens up all kinds of options.

Rental car for a day or two is the best way to get around if that's possible. None of the Orange County beaches are too far from DL, but which one is "best" depends on your preferences/family situation/etc.

Huntington Beach is maybe 30 minutes from Disneyland without traffic. Traffic slows gets better about 9:30am and picks up again around 3:30-6:00pm.
