Beaches & Cream on arrival night?

Hey all, going to Disney for my first time next month! Woo! Our flight arrives at 7pm and we currently have a reservation at Beaches & Cream for 10:30pm. I don't think making the reservation would be an issue since we are staying at the Yacht Club but I was wondering if maybe people would suggest cancelling the reservation and just use the walk up to-go window to order some ice cream? If Beaches & Cream closes at 11pm and our res is for 10:30pm will we feel rushed? That's why I'm now thinking about doing the to-go window and then we can take our ice cream for a walk or something and not have to worry about time.

They won't throw you out at 11. What that really is about is the last time they'll take an ADR, and the window closure.

I agree with aurora. We asked a question about that this past week when we were there, and the CM told us they accept sit downs up until about 15 minutes before scheduled closing time. So they're not going to throw you out at closing time.

That's good to hear at least. Then I guess we just need to decide if we want to sit down or take a stroll with our ice cream when we first arrive.

You should probably decide sooner than that. If you have a reservation and decide not to keep it, you will be charged a $10 per person, no-show fee. If you think you just want an ice cream cone, I would cancel the reservation and just go to the walk-up window.

Also, if you are a small group (eg party of 2), you may well be able to do a walk-up around 10:30pm and sit at the counter. I'd prob drop the ADR and chance a walk-up or go to the window if its really just ice cream or a snack you crave after a long traveling day.

If you are just getting ice cream then I wouldn't chance the ADR. I hate making ADR's on arrival days. You never know when you might get delayed, etc. If you are going for the kitchen sink, then go for it!

But understand that the stuff from the take-out window is not quite the same menu as in the shop.

I agree with both of the above :thumbsup2.

what can you get from the window? any of those yummy sundaes I see pics of?

You can get the mini version of the kitchen sink

I would not make an ADR at B&C for arrival night. If your flight is delayed, you could miss the ADR and pay $10 per person. I would either try to grab an ADR after I was en route to the resort on ME or try to walk up to the restaurant (or plan it another night -- we really enjoyed it).

So verifying.... you can get some of those sundaes at the window? They look so good!

I would also get rid of the ADR and wait to see what you want to do when you get to the resort, this way you won't run the risk of being charged the no-show charge just incase you are delayed for some reason.

Another alternative, if you want to drop B&C, but you still decide you want a full menu and sundaes is a short walk over to the Fountain at the Dolphin. The menus are similar and the food is much better IMHO.
So I;ve been reading..... are the sundaes better too? Does the Fountain do non dairy ice cream options like B&C offers?

I would also recommend the Fountain over Beaches and Cream. IMO, the quality of the food at B&C has decreased significantly in the past few years. The food and ice cream at the Fountain are both superior, IMO.

Have a great time, wherever you end up. :)

Thank you! I didn't think of Fountain. We are staying at BWV (first time) and arrival night is DD's b-day. We definitely want ice cream after dinner and with Seashore Sweets closed I was thinking we'd have to walk to B&C. Fountain will be better for us

Here's the fountain dinner menu, BTW: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/dolphin-hotel/fountain/menus/dinner/
