We are wanting to go to Beaches and Cream for the "famous" kitchen sink.
Is it worth it?
How long do you think I would have to wait on a Wed afternoon in Sept?
Price?

My family & I attempted it once about 5 years ago. Since we didn't finish it wedidn't get our money's worth, but it was worth the experience. We will try it again, but next time we'll request substitutions on the flavors & items we don't really care for.

With the free dining plan going on in Sept you might have to wait an hour plus if you get there around peak dinner time.

We did this last year for my DS 's 10th b'day! If I recall we did have a bit of a wait, and it was the middle of the afternoon in Novemeber. We watched them making it on You Tube (check it out!) so the kids were REALLY psyched:yay: But more importantly we knew what they were going to put in it ...we opted to change around a topping or two...Enjoy!:upsidedow

My family ordered one a week ago for 2 adults and our 3 kids and we still couldn't finish it. It was very good. In terms of a pricing aspect, I thought it was fair considering it was Disney. The "downside" is the lights going off when they bring it out. I did read on another non-Disney board that if you can eat it by yourself in under an hour, it's free.

My 2 kids and I could barely finish a Milky Way sundae last week (but we did have lunch first.) If we were ever to order the Kitchen Sink we would definitely make some flavor substitutions and bring a few friends!!!! Also, we were there during free dining and went to B & C around 3PM last Tuesday afternoon. We waited about 15 minutes for a table.

We did it once. I would say it is worth it for the novelty factor IF you have a big group (I would say 5 or more, we were 4 and it was sort of a waste). If you just want tasty ice cream, order their sundaes or banana splits and share them. They are MUCH tastier than the kitchen sink (which has too much fruit/muffins/whipped cream and not as much ice cream as I imagined) and each feeds two or 3. The No Way Jose is great!

Not a fan of it..Everything becomes a melty mess and tastes the same after a short time.Love the No way Jose though..I will say that wait times can be pretty long .I have seen waits over an hour at certain times and during free dining times .It is a very popular place that is very very tiny ( only a few tables and some counter seating).Go when they open, at off meal times and avoid it in the evenings when Epcot closes and Illuminations lets out

Ewww. Too much stuff mixed together. Would trade the kitchen sink in for a No Way Jose anytime.

With a bunch of "kids" and some substitutions it would be great fun :thumbsup2

FYI eat a small lunch earlier and then go to Beaches & Cream later for only ice cream. There is nothing worse then looking at a yummy ice cream and being too full to actually enjoy it.

We did this in May of 2009 as a surpise for my ice cream loving dad. He had no idea what a kitchen sink was or that he was getting one when we got there. We arrived at Beaches and Cream around 11:15 am and did not have a long wait at all, I would say less then five minutes. While waiting for our order they brought one out to the table behind us and my dad then wanted one too, but what he did not know was that we had ordered one while my mom had him "look" at something out the window. Our waitress let us change the coffee ice cream to vanilla with no problems at all. I must say this is alot to eat and we did split two meals between four adults before they brought this out. That being said three of us gave up early in the attempt to finish this, leaving my dad more half to finish by himself, which he did. He loved it and I think it was a highlight of his trip. My dad by no means is a heavy man, but he can put his ice cream away.

Do I think it is worth the $23.99? You bet I do, to see the excitement on my Mom and Dad's face, it was well worth it. Would we do it again, yes we would with new visitors or if my dad really wanted this again. I do recommend this to anyone who is looking for that little something special or who is up for a challenge. If you do not think this is something you want to try I would recommend a No Way Jose (so so good) or another smaller ice cream sundae. Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to share our fun experience and great Disney memories with the Kitchen Sink.

DF and I have been debating about getting one for years. He says its too small and therefore not worth the money. He could probably eat a whole one by himself... although I'd like to see it happen. Of course I'd be there helping a bit, but he is quite an ice cream fiend so I wouldn't put it past him. When we went it did look a bit small... does anyone have some pictures?

I am a huge ice cream fan and we ordered it once. The bottom was all melted and yuck.

My favorite is the Milky Way sundae.

We tried it 3 years ago, there were 6 of us and we all but completed it, we really did feel like "little piggies" after that!! It was worth the money just to see the look on my parents' face when they brought it to the table!! Go for it; its great fun, even if you dont manage to eat it all!!:rotfl:

I am one of the biggest ice cream lovers of all time lol. The kitchen sink was not worth it to me. IF u have maaany people maybe but "they" put too much gunk in it. No way for us.:sick::sick:

We get one about once a year. The least amount of people that we have had finish it is 4 adults. Usually we are with a group of people (the same group of 10 people) and we have to get 2.

To the people that talk about the stuff at the bottom - there is nothing left at the bottom.

And to those people that say it isn't worth the cost, a No Way Jose is $7.99. So if you have more than three (3) people sharing it, you haven't spend as much money.
