Is it ok to schedule ADRs for later in the night for just dessert?

Yes !!! If you would like to enjoy dessert at a table you need a ADR .. Enjoy... Soo yummy

We have a 1020pm ADR at Beaches n Cream for our trip in March. This will be a first for us and we just want ice cream!

We had an ADR last year just to order the Kitchen Sink to split four ways with our kids. It was dessert for dinner that night. It was good we had an ADR otherwise there was a long wait. Can't wait to go back this April! Staff and service were great.

yes, yes, yes. Did I say YES! It's well worth it, we've been to Disney 8 times now, and this is the first time we've been. It was great.

We stay at BC most often and do this a once or twice a trip. It's a great way to end the day after an earlier park closing. We'll have dinner in a park and then dessert at Beaches & Cream when we return to the resort.

We have always hit B&C everytime we hit WDW for the last 12 years, so imagine our shock when we arrived there just last week and couldn't get in.

The wait for the counter was 2 1/2-3 hours long. And, according to the hostess, the tables inside were reservation ONLY, not just recommended, but ONLY. And, they said it is all day, not just for dinner. So, we were given the info that the ONLY way to get a table is to have an ADR. Period.

12 years ago, staying at the Beach Club, we went down for Ice Cream sodas and root beer floats, and the place was pretty much empty. Since then, we have gotten pretty lucky at being able to walk up at early or late lunch times and have minimal/no wait. Last time, we went just before Illuminations, and it was obviously busy, but we were able to get a seat at the counter with no wait.

Does anyone know when this ADR requirement went into effect? Were we given false information. I mean...obviously I know ADRs are ideal, and the best way to get a table, but we were given the distinct impression that they would be doing no walk-up business at all, no matter the time of day. It's a little frustrating because B&C is one of those things we just don't plan 6 months ahead of time. For example, last week, it was just..."Hey wanna go get some ice cream at Beaches and Cream? Okay." If we have to start planning even our casual meals that far ahead of time...it will be a bummer.

I'm pretty sure it started around December 2014 (that was the first time we were told it was ADRs). You can get ice cream and all the sundaes except the kitchen sink at the take out window so if it's just ice cream you still can walk up but I feel your pain with this. It's one of my favorite spots and I miss the days when we could just pop in! (I REALLY REALLY REALLY wish they would just gut that arcade next door and expand B&C to be all of that space. Or even just swap the two spaces to make more room. Part of what makes it so hard to get in is just that it's so tiny and we all love it so much).
