What is Disney's policy in regards to using the beaches at resorts you are not staying at?

My DW and I want to watch Wishes from the beaches at the Polynesian and Grand Floridian after dinner on a couple nights, but we don't want to violate any rules.

Also, can you see Wishes from Citricos? When we made our ADRs were were told no, but I've read where people claimed to have watched them from there.

You can watch Wishes from any resort you choose. They won't kick you off the beach. Disney probably even hopes you will stop in the resort lounge and have a drink or two.:thumbsup2

Using their pools if you are not staying there is another story......

Hey, I just noticed you are in Michigan too! :cheer2: Lovely weather we're having, isn't it?

The weather is terrible - cold cold cold.
Can't wait until February 9th.

I don't think you can see Wishes from Citrico's, most of the windows look out on the courtyard. I suppose, if you are at the far end, you might catch a glimpse - but it's not a prime viewing spot.

You can see them from Narcoossee's, however.

There are times when only resort guests are permitted on the beach area at the Polynesian, mostly during holiday times when they have special firework shows.

I have not found that to be true - we have been there the last two NYE (and some before then) and have been approached by security (as in hi how are you folks tonight type manner) and have been asked where we are staying (not there) as part of the conversation but have never been asked to to leave or move or not be there. We were sitting on the beach one time and one time in the grass (when we had a nice chat with management). I have found the Polynesian to be very welcoming when we are overnight guests of their resort and when we have just come over to enjoy the resort for the evening guests as well.

Will be there this coming NYE as well.

We always go to the Poly and buy a drink/ice creams and sit at the beach and watch Wishes. It's awesome and romantic, even w/the kids w/us LOL! The kids love the beach but don't let them near the water, not only is it dark but the water is filthy from boat traffic, etc.

We normally stay at SSR, and sometimes Boardwalk or Shades of Green.

I would not only recommend watching the fireworks, I would encourage it! I think you should feel completely at ease, especially if your dining on the property. Wander around and see the place. Visit the lobbies, gift shop, find a spot and hang a minute. These resorts are top notch and a pleasant diversion away.

Now if your still unsure, there is a beach between both resorts that is sort of neutral, but the GF may block the show.

How early do you need to arrive at the Poly to get a good seat. Do they have towels for Poly guests?

We have gone earlier evening to monorail hop around the resorts and just hang out but literally the last two NYE people have been walking up as the fireworks started and there has been plenty of beach space to stand and watch the fireworks.
