The thumbs down is not because we could not get the kitchen sink or because we could not get an additional side or because we could not.................you get the point. ;)

Here's the report:
Last Tuesday we went to B&C and had 2 Quick and Casual lunch vouchers. We arrived around 3:45 and we were seated immediately. When we sat down, I placed the vouchers on the table so the server would know that we would be using them. I asked the tall blond woman what we could have for a drink with the vouchers. She rolled her eyes and said "anything". I knew DH would order a beer, so that left DS and I to use the drink portions of the vouchers for ourselves. DS ordered a rootbeer float and I ordered a vanilla coke. She set the drinks down so hard they clunked on the table. Then she very abruptly asked "what do you want?" DH is a restaurant manager and I've waited tables for 15 years, so I know how a server should act, and this was not it. We would have gotten better service from a truck stop waitress at this point. I didn't say anything to DH, because I thought maybe it was just me. DH and I both ordered the prime rib sub and I said that DS and I would split mine. She immediately left the table before I could ask about substituting the chickenless ceaser salad for the fries. The waitress had 2 other tables and she was perfectly disney nice to them. One table had a woman in a wheelchair and the waitress bent over backwards to help the woman. It was at that point that I asked DH if her treatment towards us was my imagination or not. He said that he felt the same way as I did. When she brought the food, she served it the same way as she did the drinks, with a clunk on the table and then running off. We didn't see her for 20 minutes after that, not even at her other tables. When we were finished with our food, DS and I ordered the No Way Jose and the Mud Slide. After paying for DH's beer, I asked another server for the manager. Something I have never done at Diseny before. George came to our table and I told him what had happened. I asked if it was because of the way we were dressed (DH is very biker looking. Ok, he owns a Harley, too, but his is a VERY easy going guy) or if it was the vouchers. He was suprised to hear about our experience. I told him that we had eaten there many times before and I had 2 more vouchers I was planning on using later in the week. He seemed sincere about the problems and said he would talk to the waitress. I also mentioned that we would not be tipping the waitress for the beer. I felt that the tip she was getting with the vouchers was far more than what we would have tipped her if we were using our room key. He understood. (I've never done that at Disney! I've probably only left a penny tip 3 or 4 times in my entire life)

We never did make it back and DH does not want to go back, ever. I don't blame him, but I wanted to use those vouchers. It really blew our food budget by going elsewhere to eat. We had used the Kingdom lunch vouchers (the $29.50 one) at RFC at AK and was treated like any other guest. Service was GREAT! We got an explination any time we had a question and the server hung around for our questions. ;)

As reported by someone else, the steak sub was a bit on the dry side. A little mustard fixed the problem, but ranch dressing would have been better. (no way to ask for any, though, our server was MIA) BUT, it was VERY tender. I usually have to eat steak sandwiches with a knife and fork. I was impressed with the sandwich's taste. There was just enough onions, peppers and cheese to flavor and not overpower. The desserts were really good, too. (how can you mess up icecream? LOL) In hind sight, I don't think I would have let DS get a float and icecream again. When the server said we could have anything, DS jumped in and said a float. I wasn't thinking and agreed to it. (bad mommy) All in all, the food was good, but not the service.

The totals:

vanilla coke $2.28
rootbeer float 4.99
2 primerib subs 21.98
No Way Jose 7.99
Mudslide 7.99

Total 45.23
- 2 vouchers 22.00
----------
savings 23.23

Dumb question -- How do you get these vouchers and what are they. Nice detailed report btw.

We ate there twice the past May and we used the vouchers both time. Food was good and so was the service. I think you did the right thing talking to the manager. We never wanted to order the kitchen sink. I really is jsut way too much. Anyway my neice and I fell in love with the No Way Jose.

Thanks for letting us know about your problems. I don't know why a server would treat you that way, but I'd love to hear her explanation! I do wonder how they feel about the vouchers. Seems like a good deal for them.

We were there the Tuesday (or Monday?) before, used two coupons, and had no problems. The server was very nice to us & our little one.

We used lunch vouchers here about a month ago and we couldn't have had better service. Sorry your experience was so challenging.

Thanks for the review. A shame about your B&C experience though because I really like that place - we ate there twice on our last trip!

Strange too about the vouchers...I can't think of any reason why the server would dislike the voucher...my only theory is that because the tip is already included (and therefore mandatory), they feel they don't have to work so hard for it...maybe?

We were there a few weeks ago & we could have ordered the kitchen sink but didn't.... Did they tell you that you couldn't?

As for your waitress, she had a BIG chip on her shoulder & I'm GLAD you talked to the manager!! We've eaten many times in there with vouchers & never have been treated like that! She should be moved to another position IMHO....

We had the exact opposite reaction to our vouchers. Our server saw them and said, "Ooh, these are great!" She then explained what we could and could not do, allowed a substitution, and took a photo of us together when she brought the desserts. The bill was about $50 and we left a small tip on top of the gratuity included in the vouchers, but it still saved us over $30.

It really was a shame that we got the waitress that we did. Normally we really enjoy the place, it's always one of the highlights of our trip. I don't think this is the norm for B&C, though. Everyone else seemed to be having a great time. On Wed, we used the breakfast vouchers at Donald's Breakfastasaurus and didn't have any problems, but when DH saw me get them out, he wasn't happy. He was afraid that we would have the same problems, but we didn't. I waited until the bill came to get the vouchers out and the server said "Oh, you have vouchers." Not snotty or happy, just matter-of-factly. They charged DS12 as a child, so we paid cash for him and left a $5 tip. I've read reports about some of the servers that are not so great, but ours did a great job, so we tipped him extra. But, that is another review/post. ;)

As for the kitchen sink, I don't know if we could have gotten it or not. Like Disneynut said, it would have been just too much! LOL Although, it did cross my mind. I said something to DH about if she had to make the desserts, I was going to order it just to tick her off. lol

A friend of ours gave us 2 vouchers that she didn't use on her trip. My DH and I weren't really sure how to use them when we went to beaches and cream. The waitress was very nice and showed us how to get the most food for our vouchers. She couldn't have been any nicer. We ended up using only one voucher and left the restraunt feeling very full! Sorry to hear you had a bad experience.
