Does Beaches and Cream comfortably accomodate parties of 9? Would you expect a long wait for lunch? I'm trying to decide between: Beaches and Cream-lunch, Le Cellier - lunch, Rose and Crown - lunch, or 50's PT Cafe-dinner. The downside of 50'sPT being we can't fit at the same table. We don't want buffets.

Here are the logistics: Our whole family has only 2 days together at WDW, so food takes a back seat to atmosphere, but I'd like everyone to be able to find something they like on the menu. The day after Thanksgiving we're planning to spend the day at Epcot then probably go to MGM late to see the Osborne Lights. We might decide to hop to MK in the late afternoon depending on how enthralled our kids are or aren't with Holidays Around the World. My dh parents, sister, and BIL are joining us, and I was trying to come up with a place for lunch or dinner that would satisfy everyone. My FIL is incredibly picky actually complaining that restaurants use too many spices and don't have "regular" (read: bland) food. He won't even eat garlic bread but thinks his tastes are representative of the public. That eliminates my top picks, but that's O.K. Any opinions?

I wouldn't do B&C with a party of 9 myself. It's really a tiny place (I'm not even sure they could accomodate a party that size at one table even  ) and it's also very popular - so unless you were thinking of having either a very early lunch or a very late one, there would almost certainly be a wait. Also, whilst the menu is tasty enough - I think it's rather limited on choices.

If I had to choose somewhere for a picky eater and a party that size - I think I'd choose Le Cellier.

B&C is very small and even at the best of times service
can be pretty slow. If I recall correctly they only
have a few booths down the side and a couple of
tables for 4 crammed in with single seat around
the counter.

Le Cellier sounds like the better option.

If you wanted to have a sit down dinner at Y&B Club
have you considered Yachtsman Steakhouse?
Expensive and a little slow (they cook your steaks
to order) but food is awesome. It's pretty big
and I don't think they would have a problem
accomodating 9.

I agree with the others. B&C is a great place to eat, but it is small and incredibly popular, too. It'd be a miracle to get all 9 seated together there and eating at the same time (service is not slow, but it's also not super fast either).

At EPCOT, Le Cellier is a good option. Your FIL could get a fairly plain steak and potato meal. They could handle a large group.

You might want to check out the menu at Garden Grille. But there you might have to be split to seat everyone and the price for the buffet has gone up. Still it is more a meat & potatoes meal.

I would check out the menu at Alfredo's. It may sound exotic, but there may be something everyone would like there.

Restaurant Marakeesh is an option, too. Sounds exotic, but the food is not that spicy. They have a chicken kabob (all meat; grilled) over rice with veggies. You could ask them to hold the sauce they put on it and I think your FIL would like that (unless he doesn't care for rice). He'd probably enjoy the belly dancer! :p

Whatever you decide, I hope your family has a wonderful time together.

Totally unrelated question.

How do you get the countdown?

P.S. We love the BC.

Thanks for the input, folks. It looks like Le Cellier is the winner. Although I like Restaurant Marrakesh, 2 of the 3 kids won't eat here. My FIL is a real burger or plain chicken kind of man. Adventurous is ribs at Tony Roma's. I'd considered Garden Grill, but we decided to do that earlier in the trip without the other 4. I'll give Alfredo's another thought. I'd dismissed it as we're eating at Tony's another day, but perhaps that was too hasty.

Whoo-hoo -- I finally get the chance to help someone on here. :p Try this link to Mr. J. Cricket's thread on countdowns: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=267754

This thread will help you create a countdown and then "attach" it to your signature. It's fun sometimes watching it ever so slowly go down. I thought it would never hit double-digit days!!

I hope this helps you.

We usually go down with a large group 12 or more and have really enjoyed the Prime Time. There are certain rooms that have tables that can connect along the same wall, at the very least you will be right next to each other. They are very accomodating about that. We were ROFL throughout the dinner with the servers antics- it really loosens people up!

My party of eight had no trouble getting one table at 50's. We were at two tables side by side at Rose and Crown. We were out on the patio.
B&C is definately too small.

O.K., so it's Le Cellier or 50's PT. I'll make lunch PS for Le Cellier and dinner PS for 50's PT, and we'll see what the group wants to do. Thanks for the help.
