Beaches and Cream or Ghirardelli?

I'm looking for advice on whether to go to Beaches and Cream or Ghirardelli for my ice cream sundae fix.

On my arrival day I'm having dinner at DTD and had originally planned just to get a sundae at Ghirardelli on the way back to Pop. However I can get an ADR at Beaches and Cream for 9pm.

Which one would you recommend?

Also, if I go to B&C, how easy is it to get back from there to Pop? I'm assuming it will involve transferring buses at least once.

Thanks!

My family LOVES Beaches and Cream (we have another ADR here in August, just for ice cream for supper :-)), but it is IMO a pain to transfer buses on the way back to POP. You would have to catch a bus from Beach Club and go to a park to transfer to another bus OR you could take a boat ride to DHS and then a bus to POP (this way might be part of the 'adventure' if you haven't seen the Boardwalk or taken the boat to DHS before). If you decide to go to B & C I highly recommend the No Way Jose - our family also had a kitchen sink last trip (big, fun presentation, but just 'ok', glad we tried it).
If you are not interested in seeing the Boardwalk, I would probably just get a Ghiradelli sundae (Gold Rush yum) and save myself a lot of time.

If you are already DTD for dinner , and just want ice cream, I would go to Ghirardelli.
I love both, but I like the food at B&C too.

You can walk through Igw through Epcot and take that bus - or take the boat to HS and bus from there

Thanks. I was thinking that it was going to be a hassle to get back to Pop and you've just well and truly confirmed that for me. I might stick with Ghirardelli that night and keep looking to see if I can get a B&C on one of my Epcot days so I can walk there are back!

Noted. I'll keep looking for a B&C at a better time so I don't have to do all the travelling and will just enjoy what DTD has to offer.

Thanks - I'm definitely starting to think it's a bit too much of an effort just for ice-cream :mickeybar

Ghirardelli's. B&C is not the worth the hassle IMO.

We prefer Ghirardelli's for the ice cream

Thanks! Any suggestions of what to get at Ghirardelli's? I'm currently tossing up between the Ocean Beach Sea Salt Caramel sundae and the Gold Rush sundae, but could easily be persuaded to try others!

Haagen Dasz. Better ice cream. As far as I know, both of the other places just use Dreyers/Edies. G's chocolate is good, but they don't make their own ice cream.

If only you could buy the hot fudge from G then the ice cream from HD...

Interesting. Coming from Australia we don't have Dreyere or Edies so I'm assuming they're brands available everywhere. I'm not a massive Haagen Dasz fan but I'll keep it in mind as an option ☺️

We've never tried both, except my dad. He preferred Ghirardelli's shake over B&C. I can't judge since i've only had Ghirardelli.

I had no idea Ghirardelli was Dryers or Edys! I knew B&C was but I thought Ghirardelli was actually a brand made by Ghirardelli.

Haagen Daz is a Super Premium ice cream versus Ghiradeli/Dryers Premium ice cream.

Super Premiums, like Haagen Daz, have twice the sugar and fat content.

Many of Ghiradeli flavors, while made by Dryers, are specially formulated for Ghiradeli and are not readily available.

Beaches & Cream is a lovely spot, but not worth the hassle you will have if already at Downtown Disney.

Ghiradeli is an OK spot, but I think better it's better than Haagen Daz if your trying to relax.

One more thing - there is a new Gelato place in Downtown Disney and they make everything right there. No tables for enjoying. But Gelato is an entirely different balance of cream and sugar than American-style ice cream (less fat and yet, somehow creamier tasting). Many flavors are interesting and frankly, the pistachio was extraordinary.

Last trip my husband and I tried both places (different days! lol) I had the brownie sundae at Ghiradelli and while it was very good it was WAY too rich and I got a stomachache after. A few days later I had the brownie sundae at Beaches and Cream and it was fantastic. It was so great that I sent my husband back the next night to get me a Milky Way Sundae :) We were staying at the Beach Club so it was very convenient but sometimes the lines are very long for ice cream and I noticed that service has been very slow at Beaches and Cream each time we've gone-for dinner or just ice cream.
