I had dinner at Beaches and Cream last night, and was very disappointed by the burger I had. I've been to B&C about 10 times, and always loved it until now. The hamburger meat now seems to be the same mass-market burger that is served by the counter service restaurants. Has anybody else had this experience?

Not yet, but thanks for the heads up. I'm planning to eat at Beaches and Cream next Saturday night, and although I'm not much of a hamburger person, I've heard such raves about theirs, that I was going to order a hamburger. Think I'll order something else, now.

Wow that is bad news. We will be going there on our upcoming trip so I will let you know what I find.

For the price they charge they really could keep the higher quality burger.

Any reason you didn't ask while you were there?

More and more standardization.

Most restaurant have Salmon as the only fish on the menu. (last time I was there)

There really is not that much variety on the TS menus IMO.
Lamb Shanks, Ribs, Filet, Salmon, Tilapia (or some other cheap fish of the month) on almost every menu. (off the top of my head)

They no longer serve all beef hotdogs. Let me say this again, they no longer serve all beef hotdogs. They charge the same though.
Anyone else remember how good the hotdogs where on the cart in Epoct that is now long gone?

What is that mystery fish they serve at Cookes of Dublin? I've spend a lot of time in Dublin. That's not even close to what you get at a real chip shop.

Of course it makes sense for profit reason to get the products at the same distributer.
Since so many people get the DDP you do not have to provide quality, just food.
It's already paid for. And if someone complains they just give you back your credits.
So many credits go unused what do they care.

I'm not going to waste time going outside the property, so they have me.
But I will never get the DDP again.
I'm also going to stick to CS for the most part and eat at the handful of good TS locations.

That's distressing. Sounds like its time to make the move from B&C to the Dolphin Fountain for a good burger.

Put your flame suit on. Folks here don't take well to criticizing the mouse.

I felt that way about Le Cellier, it is the lowest grade steak available to restaurants. My dh always laughs at me because I grew up in my families restaurants so I know mediocre steak.

I'm hoping when the economy turns around quality will return. Until then I'm off site for most of my meals.

No flames from me. I couldn't agree more. This is one of the main reasons our trip this December will be our last for a while.

No we don't go for the food. But the food is one of the many thing that Disney has dumbed up lately.

I hope you just got a bad burger at Beaches and Cream. We usually dine there at least twice a trip. We love them burgers there. One of the few places where we actually feel like we got our money worth

Because we know they've changed the hotdogs to a beef and chicken blend, it only seems to reason that they're changing the burger quality, too. I have no reason to doubt this.

I never get the DDP. It doesn't work with how I like to eat at Disney. And on my upcoming trip, my two restaurants that I booked ADRs for...do not accept the DDP. ;)

My friends who are BCV DVC owners just got back and said the same thing. The bUrgers are more of the CS quality now

I totally agree.I found even though we got the DDP for free on our last trip( we did not eat but 2 meals while there for 8 days, due to illness) the quality, and taste are gone. As for quanity, I would rather have a very small portion of something wonderful, then a plate full of yuck. It hurt to pay the tip on food that was worse than frozen.

Wow Le Cellier has the best Filet I have ever had, we have it booked 4 times for out next trip.

I always compare my steaks to Le Cellier and would rather not eat any and just wait till I return to DW.

What restaurants have better steaks?

I just want to second the opinion that if you want a really good burger in this area that is reasonably priced try the Dolphin Fountain.

It is set up like a 1950's malt shop and the food and ice cream have been consistently good.

Since it is not on the DDP they have to keep the quality up.

Plus they have the Fountain Funnel for $20.
It's seven scoops of ice cream, three toppings and three sauces whip cream and a cherry on top.
We've never ordered it, but we always think about getting it.

I'm sorry to hear about the decline of the burger at B&C. We were at WDW a few weeks ago and came thisclose to going to B&C for a burger because it was so good several years ago.

I don't like to knock the Mouse, but I'm afraid I agree about the general quality of dining going down hill. We recently joined DVC and one of the benefits is getting food off property and dining in the room. :earsboy:

This is the thing that frustrates me the most with the DDP.
I do not mind tipping on a good meal and for great service.
But basically being strong-armed to tip 18% on overpriced, sometimes below average food, and sometimes terrible service really annoys me.

I have no issue going to Kona and tipping 18%+, but being expected to tip 18%+ at the Maya Grill is ridiculous. The food is overpriced and not that good IMO.

The pinnacle of Disney dining was the first year of the DDP. It has built up to that for several years and since then as fallen off a cliff.

The only reason I go back any more is the Food and wine Festival with snack credits.
I would not pay the prices for most of these items OOP.
This makes the QSDP a good value to me, but we will see.

I think Shulas has the best steak but I don't think it's on the DDP plan so maybe there is some truth to having to work a little harder because people are paying cash.

It may have been also that I had heard so much hype here about Le Cellier. some times expectations take over and then I'm disappointed. It was not a bad steak but It was probably TG Fridays or Outback level. I laugh now when I read some reviews and people talk about how the cheddar soup and breadsticks were the best part of the meal. The first thing in my mind is "You went to a steak house and the best part of the meal was the soup and bread, and no one has a problem with this?"

We tried the DDP once. I don't belive I will use it again. I personally wish it would go away. I think quality and service has gone down since its inception.

People need to start sending things back and complaining to the manager when this happens. Then maybe they will get a clue. Too bad we like B&C:(

I haven't eaten at Beaches and Cream since April, but I'll be back in 2 weeks. I'm still irritated that you can't get a PICKLE with your burger! What kind of hamburger place doesn't have pickles? :confused3
