Does anyone know of a beach within a reasonable distance from DL on which you might see sea lions? It seemed to me that last time I was there 1992- we saw sea lions at La Jolla. Don't really want to drive that far, but I think that would be really neat for the kids. Not planning to swim- so swimming suitability is not an issue.

I read this in a AAA guide book. I was planning on looking into it for our trip, but haven't yet.

"The Marine Mammal Care Center at Fort MacAurthur is a rehab center for sick seals and sea lions. You can see the animals from a fenced area. Call (310) 548-5677."

Maybe someone else has been or knows something about it?

I assume this is the Cabrillo Beach Marine Museum? I'd call ahead, because sometimes they don't have sea lions in care.

They did have this lovely Octopus the last time I went. He was so cool and everyone loved him.

There also is the Long Beach Aquarium. I highly suggest you check them out.

Sea world is a good place to go tons of them there. If you want to see them in there natural enviroment I suggest where I live Dana Point harbor. It is about 35 mins south of Disneyland.

in the wild is what I had in mind. We are just going to the beach for the kids to be able to say they've seen the Pacific. Just thought I'd throw in Sea Lions for the heck of it. Probably won't spend more than an hour on the beach- we'll be in a hurry to get to Soarin!!!!
