Beach towels

Can you check out beach towels to hit the islands, or should I bring my own?

If it is a DCL water excursion they will provide towels. If you leave the ship on your own for the beach, you need bring your own.

Are you sure about that, all other cruise lines provide towels for anyone who wants to take them ashore.

Does Disney leave pool towels in your cabin or are they in bins my the pool?

Disney will have towel bins set up at each port of call as you disembark the ship. Just remember to bring them back and keep costs down!

They will be in bins by the pools. Just take what you need before you go ashore.
On Castaway Cay, they will be provided on shore for you as you get off the ship.

We have sailed DCL 6 times and this is how I remember it. Even when we sailed in August there were no towels outside the ship except at CC. Towels were handed out at the meeting places for the DCL shore excursions (various clubs/lounges). We always bring our own beach towels from home so it was not a problem, and sometimes we will take some from the pool area bins to bring ashore and then return them.

I happen to think DCL could do a better job with their pool/beach towels. The towels Carnival provides far surpass the ones DCL uses. They are much bigger and softer. They actually cover a normal sized body.

If you don't see a bin of towels as you get off the ship, ASK! I was dumbfounded how I could walk right past them and not see them. They were always there, sometimes in a corner, sometimes right in plain view. It's usually pretty crowded getting off the ship, plus you're trying to get your id out, see what the "procedure" is, planning where you are going..........they can be easily missed.
