Here's my questions for fellow budget-minded folk:
It's getting towards the end of the summer retail season, where can I find a good quality beach towel at a great price?
What's your favorite brand of beach towel?
:beach:
Thanks in advance!

I got one on clearance from Lands End at least 10 years ago and it's still like new.

I tend to buy mine at the Disney Store, actually. The personalized ones are very nice towels, and you don't have to personalize them (I refuse to pay more for the personalization than the towel). I hit the Disney Store clearance section regularly to see if they have any. I don't think they do right now, but I'm sure they'll have them soon.

Vera Bradley has some great beach towels. They were on sale this week for 18.00. Great deal for some nice plush towels that hold their color.

We bought some very heavy, thick towels on clearance at (of all places) Old Navy. It was 2 summers ago and they are still very nice.

I found some really plush beach towels at Kohl's last year on clearance, and then got an extra 20% or 30% off with my coupon. The colors are still very vivid and the towels are over-sized and super soft.

We buy ours at Costco. They are less than $12 each, great quality & nice colors.

They last us for years :goodvibes

yup.
But all summer we use Disney ones out by the pool...brings some (much needed Disney) Smiles into our daily routine! :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 they have the best beach towels there! Not the little ones like they sell at the disney store but thick ones you can wrap yourself up into when getting out of the pool etc

I have a towel from JC Penny that is from the 1980 LA Olympics. Yes, it's 21 years old and still in perfect shape. It gets used often, too. My coach, a 1996 Olympian, laughs at the fact that I have a towel that old and still use it. Why not? It's one of my favorites. I used to have another from JC Penny that was over 25 years old but sadly I left it in the locker room at Nationals on year and someone took it :(

Lands End has beach towels on sale through 7/19 and bathing suits and other summer stuff as well. I'm getting DD a new one piece swimsuit and it's $12, but they have tops and bottoms for about $5-6 on the website.

I got a couple of really nice Ralp Lauren beach towels at Kohs' for $13.49, then I had a 30% off coupon and some Kohl's cash. DH got one on "The Big One" that they had for like $10.99, but it isn't quite as nice.

Personally I bought the 3/$10 towels at Walgreens! ha ha ha. I took them on our cruise to bring on excursions instead of the big Carnival beach towels in case they got lost or stolen. I also use them at the public pool in case they get stolen. I only really use them to lay out on and maybe quickly dry off. So no big, fluffly towel needed.

I once had a beautiful, big, colorful beach towel that my parents paid a lot of money for. It was a picture of a big box of crayons in a rainbow. (Yeah, I was a teen and it was the 80s.) Anyway, someone stole it and I guess I am paranoid now.

We're still using ones I bought at Mervyn's before they closed. They were something like buy one get 2 free. They get a lot of use and are still holding up.

I have had fantastic luck at yard sales.

I found some heavy/thick high quality ones for about $2 or less. I also found some smaller/thinner ones for 25 cents.

So, we take these everywhere because we don't care if we lose them or they get stolen at the waterparks!
