Beach Towels? At pool? At water parks?

Should we pack our own beach towels or do they have them at the pool at AKL? What about at Typhoon Lagoon? It has honestly been so long I can't remember...I am trying to keep the bags as light as possible. :) But I also don't want to miss something obvious.

When I went to the water parks this past September, I believe you have to rent towels or you can bring your own and leave them in a locker if you rent one. Not sure about the pools... cant remember

Pools at the resorts have regular room towels. (apparently the deluxe resorts have bigger towels)
The water parks have towels for rent.

We bring our own beach towels every year. We don't rent a locker at the water parks, we just put the towels on a few chairs. The resort key cards are plastic so the get tucked in my swimsuit pocket.

The AKL pool has beach towels. You can take them to the WP. They both have towel return baskets so you can leave them there.

Pools at all Disney resorts have regular room towels.

I have read that the Value resorts do not supply pool towels; you must bring them from your room.

They do bring out a cart of towels but it's usually empty by evening time.

Hmm... I think the "Disney Mom's Panel" might want to revise this answer they gave in March:sad2::

"Towels are not available at the pools at Disney's value resorts: All Star Movies, All Star Music, All Star Sports, and Pop Century. Towels are available at the pools at the moderate and deluxe resorts. If you're staying at a value resort, you will either need to bring a towel from your hotel room or bring one from home."

We stayed at ASMu last year and they had a towell cart by the main pool, but not by the quite pool. I guess they figured it was easier then running back and forth to the rooms with more towells. ;) We usually bring 2 or 3 beach towells with us to wrap around the little ones when going back to the room after swimming; especially at night when it is a little cooler.

Hmm ... I conferred with my wife and she says they put a cart out in the morning. They don't restock it so I guess they tell you they don't so you don't depend on it.

I saw that at ASMusic last fall too, by the Calypso pool. We've stayed at ASMo and Pop and I haven't seen it there.

hmmm...well, good for me at AKL I guess. :) If I can 'borrow' an AKL towel to take to TL/BB, that is great! If I end up with space in the bag I may stuff them in but now I know I don't HAVE to. Awesome! (And quite happy to be talking about packing in an imminent sense! Woot! :cool1:

We always bring our own beach towels from home regardless of what level resort we are staying in.

Here is what we do and it works well for us. We always seem to get a stockpile of beach towels after a few years so..... we take a few "older" towels with us (yes we fly), use them at the water parks for our entire trip, and then throw them away or give them away (after we wash them) at the end of our trip. We get extra room for souvenirs in our suitcases since we don't have the beachtowles anymore too.
