Beach recommendations...warm enough in January? Vero?

I'm planning a trip to WDW for January and would love to be able to take my dd (age 5) to a beach as a tie-in either before or after WDW.

I'm wondering if I'm just delusional to think that we might actually be able to get out on the beach at that time of year?

I've only been to Florida twice on business trips both times, to Ft. Lauderdale (April) and Miami (Jan...at which time it actually happened to be warm enough for swimming, but not sure that was typical).

Any thoughts???

There the lasat week of Jan last year temp didn"t get out of the 60.

There in November, air temp was fairly warm (60s) but certainly too cold to get in the water!!

I'm a local. Jan. is usually one of the coldest months. There can be a warm spell, but I doubt the water will be warm enough to go in at that point.
