Anyone ever swam in the ocean in December? Or is this a definite no-no what are you crazy thing to do. The water temps look a little cool.
If swimming is not possible, is it even nice enough to walk along the beach and stick your toes in the water and walk barefoot on the pier???
I'm trying to see if its worth it to pay extra to stay at a hotel on the beach or just drive by instead.
Thanks

It is too cold for swimming in December. I walk along the beach all year long, but rarely put my feet in the water in the winter.

Depends where you are from! My DBro was here for Thanksgiving, and went in my pool. We thought he was nuts.

I'm from Austin, TX.
I suppose I should just stay close to the parks and drive to the beach to view the Ocean instead :confused3
I wasn't totally sure.

Where were you planning to stay near the beach?

From the maps Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort & Spa look to have the best spot but the highest prices.
So any of the hotels within walking distance to that one that faced the ocean.

the Pacific is very cold that time of year! I would never walk barefoot on a pier.....splinters!
