Any suggestions for a room request at the beach club (we are booked into a standard view) a balcony I could sit on and any view but the parking lot would be prefferable!

All standard view rooms are either a view of a parking lot or roof. A garden view (view of something green - trees, bushes, courtyard, garden) is normally less than $10 per night more than a standard view. You may want to consider upgrading to a garden view.

Since you booked a standard view room, you'll be very limited in what you get to look at from a balcony. However, it never hurts to ask. Just request a room with a "full balcony and a nice view". That tells the room assigner what is important to you and they will do their best to fulfill it.

Stayed at BC in 2007 and didn't request any particular room. We wound up in a lovely corner room overlooking the water and the pool, very close to the elevator with a balcony big enough to stand outside. If the difference is only $10 then go for the upgrade. Enjoy BC... it is stunning!
