Beach Club

Hi. We are planning my June 2003 trip to WDW and we are considering Beach Club. Does anyone have any wonderful or terrible stories to share? I tried to search but it was toooo slow. Thanks!

WE ENJOYED THE BC. TWO SUMMERS AGO WE STAYED THERE AND THE POOL IS GREAT. THE ROOM WAS NICE WITH THE SINKS OUTSIDE THE BATHROOM WHICH IS VERY CONVENIENT SINCE WE HAVE 3 DAUGHTERS. IT HAD A SMALL BALCONY WHICH FIT 2 STANDING. WE OVERLOOKED THE BACK COURTYARD. MY ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THERE IS NO PLACE TO GET A QUICK (TAKE OUT )BITE TO EAT WITHOUT WALKING OVER TO THE BWI SIDE OF THE BW. IT IS VERY CLOSE TO EPCOT A SHORT WALK AWAY OR BOAT TRIP. MGM IS ALSO A BOAT TRIP AWAY OR A WALK . THE WALK SOUNDS A BIT LONGER LIKE 15 MINUTES BUT I COULD BE WRONG BECAUSE THE PATH WASN'T COMPLETE 2 YEARS AGO.

The closest you will come to a food court (fast service) is Beaches and Cream. It is a little sit down soda shops that serves B,L,D. Best burgers and a nice continental breakfast. I was able to get a croissant sandwich for breakfast. Very good. There is also the Boardwalk Bakery for quick breakfast foods and Spoodles has a pizza takeout window. The Dolphin Hotel has a food court (tubbies). These are all a 5 minute walk from the BC.
We have always been thrilled with the BC. Always been upgraded to a water view without asking. Good luck!

No food court at the BC, but Beaches and Cream offers a quick bite for breakfast. They offer bagels, danish, doughnuts, juice, etc. The BC is a great resort. We only stay at the BC or BWI. You can't beat the walk to Epcot and the boat to MGM. The bus stop for the MK is the closest one to the entrance (next to the Swan and Dolphin).

The bus stop is at the Swan/Dolphin? We stayed at the Dolphin in November and loved the boardwalk and farries, that is why we are looking into BC.

Several years ago we decided to stay at BC for my Mom (we had normally stayed at mods or values, this was her first and supposedly her only trip to WDW so we wanted to make it special and she looked through the books and choose BC. We loved it so much we don't like to go anywhere else. We just returned from the AKL in April, (my husband and kids wanted to try it out) and the whole time there I just kept comparing it to the BC and told my husband I didn't want to stay anywhere else, but the BC from now on. My mom also has returned to WDW since, even though she thought the first trip would be a once in a lifetime thing, she just loved it so much. As a matter of fact, we recently purchased into the Disney Vacation Club at the Beach Club Villas which are attached to Beach Club, because we loved the Beach Club so much.

You really can't beat the 5 minute walk to Epcot, we go over every couple of nights to watch illuminations and just walk back to our hotel and are in bed before everyone else is even on their bus heading back to their resort. And the view at night from the beach looking over to the boardwalk is just breathtaking.

My only complaint about Beach Club is the lack of a food court type resturant. If your looking for a quick breakfast of bagels, doughnuts and croissants, Beach and Creme will do just fine, but if you want bacon, eggs, hashbrowns and waffles, you have to do a full service sit down. Don't get me wrong, their full service sit down resturant, Cape May Cafe is wonderful, it is just not cheap and you can't do it every day. It is a character breakfast with goofy, chip, dale and minne and the food is a buffet and it is excellent.

Okay, I have ranted enough, needless to say, it is a wonderful place. Go, you will love it.
