I'm thinking about booking a trip for next summer and I'm looking into the Beach & Yacht Clubs. Is there any major difference between these resorts. From what I can see, they share the same grounds and pool, etc. Are the rooms similar? Is it just the decor that is different? :flower:

That's right, it's just the decor. They do share the pool, restaurants, etc. BC is a little closer to the Epcot entrance and YC is a little closer to the Studios if you are walking over.

Yacht Club is also closer to the marina. Most of YC's rooms have full size balconies too while BC has alot of standing room only balconies. I've stayed at both and enjoyed both but prefer the decor of the YC. That's completely a personal taste kind of thing but I also find YC to be a little quieter. Still kid friendly though (I have a teenager and a now 5 year old). The five year old has been to the YC at the age of 2, 3 and 4. He loves it there! It has hardwood floors and a nautical theme.

We stayed in the BC this past May and loved the whole area. However, when we go back we want to try the YC. These are just our personal observations - there are a lot of threads that discuss this and people are pretty adament in their reasons for liking one or another. We would be happy to do either - but want to try YC because... 1. The lobby of BC is a very busy place because it checks in BC, BC Villas and has Cape May Cafe. The YC lobby is much quieter and I liked all the hardwood and elegant furnishings. 2. The YC has full balconies. We stay a the deluxes so we can have a balcony to enjoy an adult beverage after the kids go to sleep. I would be soo disappointed if we didn't get one. 3. I just like the grounds of the YC a little bit more.
Both resorts are beautiful - we just think the YC may be more our "style". We will try that next...but first we are doing the BW in February for our 1st experience in a deluxe concierge room. Yeah!!

The Yacht Club hosts alot of small conventions and business meetings. You will find it to be quieter then the Beach Club with alot less children running around. Otherwise the resorts are pretty much the same.

Sounds like BC is great for families with children, especially young children. I think I would prefer BC over YC, I have children and we will fit right in with the rest of the other children. I think I will feel uncomfortable if the place is too quiet and too serious with conventions going on. I want laid back...relaxed atmosphere where you hear lots of children laughing and playing.

But that's exactly the feel I get at the YC! Laid back. I can really relax at the YC and don't feel hurried and rushed. I felt BC was a little too busy for me. My kids love YC and prefer the room decor to BC. However, I'd take a vacation at either if it were offered to me! LOL

Thanks for the responses. I think I may like the YC better personally. I would like a larger balcony as I plan on spending more time at the hotel this trip than on previous trips, so I want a nice room. I like the more laid back atmosphere mentioned also.

I've only stayed at YC (but will try BC in the future just b/c I haven't). I agree with what others said. YC uses more elegant decor, like dark blues and brass. BC uses pastels like light blue and pink. YC was quieter. BC had more kids running around and just seemed busier.
