Beach Club vs. Contemporary vs. Polynesian?

Hello, we are looking to book a few days around Christmas time and narrowed it down to these 3 resorts. We were leaning BC because it was ~$400 cheaper but we are still undecided.

I understand that contemporary and Polynesian are close to MK and beach club is within walking distance to Epcot but we would be spending an equal amount of time in both parks so that doesn’t matter as much.

The main things we are looking for is which resort is “nicer” (which I know is subjective), more adult friendly, and able to fit 4 adults comfortably. When looking online, it seems like the rooms at the contemporary are bigger and have a bigger couch which would be a plus. Beach club rooms say they fit 6 adults, whereas the others say 5. So I was a bit confused about that. I also understand the beach club has the best pool on property, but I’m not sure how much we’d be utilizing that in December.

What rooms are you looking at? A standard hotel room has capacity of 4-5 adults, not 6. Do you want a day bed?

Personally I’d go Poly. The MK area rooms are bigger & the CR theming is so bland to me it makes Poly the winner.

I had to go back and look, beach club did say 5 adults not 6. We were looking for a resort with a daybed. Do all of these resorts have them?

Advantages to all 3. If you're planning to visit MK and EP the most, the Poly makes a lot of sense. You can monorail to MK and walk to TTC to get the monorail to EP. If you're also planning to do HS, you can't beat the BC location - can walk to EP and walk/boat/skyline to HS. And yes, the pool at BC is something to experience. We're often down in December and almost always have a couple days at the pool.

Yes all the resorts have them, no not all the rooms have them. Look at the room descriptions and you’ll see the bedding options. Poly & CR will have a daybed for your group size. BC a daybed will only be a request, you could end up with 2 queens.

I’d go with CR. Their rooms are pretty big. I believe Poly is similar and BC is slightly smaller rooms. I feel like poly has kids all over running around and I didn’t see as many at CR, except by chef Mickey’s. The quiet pool at CR barely had anyone in it, or mostly adults. My teen son liked swimming at it because there were less little kids. Monorail is also fun for adults monorail crawl or just to shop and eat.

You could also look at boardwalk. I think they are a bit more adult over BC/YC. This area is nice too because can eat at any of those resorts plus Swan/dolphin and Epcot.

CR and Poly are larger rooms more conducive to a full house than BC, in my humble opinion. Both have larger and nicer bathroom areas as well vs. BC.

IMHO Poly’s rooms are the “nicest” and are extremely livable for a large group, lots of storage/drawers to keep things organized, large size rooms, etc. There’s some risk you won’t get a balcony (second floor hotel-side rooms don’t have a balcony) if a concern for you. Poly has some great adult-centric options like Trader Sam’s (indoor or outdoor), Tambu Lounge, the Oasis Pool (which is less kid heavy), and now the new Wailulu restaurant in the new tower. And a quick walk to GF for plenty more adult options.

CR has nice size rooms as well, guaranteed balcony, but the rooms aren’t as “nice” (Incredibles room fit/finishes were a little cheap, IMHO) and just overall a bit less livable in terms of overall use of space.

Not sure if your dates align with an MVMCP dates but I adore the MVMCP fireworks show and watching it from the Poly beach is a real holiday treat.

I'm a huge fan of the EP area resorts and love saving money, however, given your need for a guaranteed day bed, I would probably take BC off the list. Between Poly and CR, I would choose Poly as the nicer, overall resort. If you have any interest, you may also want to price out two rooms at Swan or Dolphin - we have, in the past, been able to get two rooms at one of those resorts for the price of one Poly room.
