We hope to split our trip between our home resort, SSR, and another. I was just looking at Boardwalk and Beach Club. Any general thoughts/comparisons?

If you are looking for a view, stay at the BoardWalk, and get a boardwalk view.

We own at BWV and just had our first stay at BCV. We love both but really liked all the activities at the BCV. They have a campfire at 8pm, and a movie at 9pm. We have small children so the pool at BCV is much better for them as well. There is a whole section that is only about 2 1/2 feet deep with sand for them to dig in as well. Again, both resorts are great it just depends on what you are looking for. The rooms in the BWV are a little bigger, but not much. Also, BCV has the sandcastle club for kids if you interested in that sort of thing. Im not sure BWV offers a program like that.

After buying in April and having to wait about 15 months to take the first trip, I am not sure if anything will be able to match our expectations, lol.

Never stayed at BC, so I can only offer my experiences at BW and what is available there. Whether you have a BW view or a standard or pool, the building is the same, and right on the boardwalk, whereas the BCV is a building outside of the resort, behind it if you will, from the pool area/beach, lake, etc.

We have spent time at the BC pool before pool hopping there was not allowed, my kids liked it, but I didn't like the fact that it was hard to keep an eye on them if they went along the "river", which of course they did! So I was either in the pool with them or trying to work my way around the pool along side it. It is a pretty awesome pool though!

BC has the beach with the movies, as previously posted. I do believe all resorts have some sort of "kids" club. BW has community hall with activities and games for kids, plus the arcade, just off the pool area. You didn't mention the ages of your children, but we joined when our kids were 10. They LOVED the slide at BW (200 foot winding water slide into the pool, like a coaster) at that age, and they love it still at 19. There is also an area for little ones with a water fountain play area. There is a craft time where the kids can join staff members for a daily craft, but I don't know what time that is, you'd have to check with the resort. There's alot of nighttime "strolling" entertainment on the BW - magicians, jugglers, piano players, etc. and the kids love it! There's a face painting booth, and a hair wrapping booth and a couple of carnival games (all for a nice cost of course), as well as a pizza window, funnel cakes, coffee stand, corn dogs, etc. There are a few restaurants, a sweet shoppe/ice cream parlor, and an ESPN sports bar with an arcade. There's also the surrey bike rentals on the boardwalk, and at community hall there are regular bikes for rent. So, between the pool, community hall, and the evening entertainment there's alot going on there for kids and families. Even a few things for the adults as well....Jellyrolls Dueling Piano Bar, Big River Grille & Brewing Works brewing their own beer), Flying Fish Cafe - a signature dining restaurant, etc.

It's a tough choice, both offer alot. Have fun planning and enjoy your trip.

I also wanted to add that if you stay in the BWV, you can still easily stroll over to BCV to watch the evening movie or do the 8pm campfire. If you stay at BCV you can easily walk over to the boardwalk for all the activities there. Thats one of the nice things about being at either of these resorts. Two parks and 3 resorts (swan/dolphin) all in one area. Jellyrolls is sooo much fun for an adult night out!

You can't pool hop to SAB, but the other BCV activities are available regardless of what hotel you are staying at (and its a five minute walk).

The first question is availability - BCV is small, and the popular room types at BWV book fast. For this reason....

If I could get a Standard View room at BWV (highly unlikely at some times of year, possible at others) I'd go with Standard view - I like to save on points - I'm stingy that way. (its about 20% of the resort). If saving points isn't attractive.....

If I could reserve a Boardwalk View room (another 20% - also unlikely at certain times of year - possible, perhaps even probable - at seven months at others), I'd book that - the view is really nice and its a hard room to get at seven months - take advantage of it when you can get it.

If neither Standard or Boardwalk View was available (or if I didn't care about saving points and didn't value view), I'd book over at the Beach Club - same number of points as Preferred View, but you get access to SAB, a little closer walk to Epcot. Because its a small resort, and very popular, it can be hard to book.

Boardwalk Preferred Views are pretty easy to book at seven months except at a very few times of year - so that would be my final choice - you'll almost certainly get another chance to stay in a preferred view room.

If you like to walk to the parks, BWV is good because it is about the same to walk to either DHS or Epcot. BCV is closer to walk to Epcot. The walk to you room at BWV COULD be a long one, depending on where you are. That for us was the only down side to BWV...we were so tired at the end of the night and that hall was soooooo long! But we really liked how is was situated between the 2 parks. And the times we drove, we were able to park close enough that it wasn't too bad. Having said all of that, if I were getting ready to book for my husband and I, I would choose BCV,partly because of the close proximity to Epcot. My in-laws would choose BWV due to the Boardwalk.
