My wife and I are staying here in September...any feedback? I have walked past the Yatch and Beach resort...looks nice. We chose the BC Villas as they are close to Epcot and MGM - our two favorite parks! Thanks - Steve

We stayed in a 2brm at BCV in October 2002 and they are spacious , beautiful and very conveniently located. You will love the easy access to Epcot and MGM and Stormalong Bay. The Epcot resorts are my personal favorites....so much to do within a few minutes walk!! Any specific questions??

Thanks Minster - We just booked our trip over the weekend and I'm sure I will have alot of questions. I'm new to the forum - how would I contact you other then responding to this post?

Also - We have stayed at OKW resort. We found the rooms very nice but the location was so isolated (Unless you LOVED golf). I would imagine the BCV are equal or even better then OKW room wise with all the awesomeness and coolness of the whole Epcot location. I am excited to stay at BCV. How is parking (we will be driving in)

Thanks - Steve

I can't answer your question about parking, since I didn't drive, but I just wanted to agree that I think you'll love BCV. I did-and that's even without the appeal of Stormalong Bay-I don't swim. But I do love the beach theme and Beaches and Cream soda shop is a must, especially if you like ice cream. Just don't try to go there after Illuminations-the CMs there told me people run over to get in line. And I have to agree with your impression of OKW. Problem is, DH LOVES golf, so that's the only place he'll stay. I fear that all my trips to BCV will be solo, unless I can convince one of my sons to go with me. Just wait til you sit on the balcony some morning with your morning coffee, listening to the music filter over from WS.

The BCV rooms are very nice but smaller than OKW. BCV are separate from the main BC resort ( short walk to the lobby ). Parking is very close to the BCV, you dont have to enter the BC lobby area.

The location is great with easy access to Epcot and MGM. The Boardwalk is located directly across the lake, it comes to life at night. We usually stay at the Boardwalk, both resorts are great.

You are going to love it at BCV!
The rooms are a bit smaller than OKW, but who cares when you compare that with the location, amenities, and beauty of the BCV! wow, they are so gorgeous!
You will be about a 3 minute walk to Epcot, cant beat that, walking distance to over 20 restaurants, the whole BW area is just wonderful!

oh now I cant wait! just 32 more days til my stay at BCV! :)
yippeee! :)

We were in a 1BR BCV in January, they are nice, although I prefer the BWV (where I'm writing this from :) ) The BCV are also smaller than the BWV.

We didn't have a car, but if you are a DVC member you can valet park at the DVC resort you are staying at for free (just need to tip the valet a couple bucks).

I have read that if you are a cash paying guest staying at one of the villas that you will receive daily housekeeping. Is this true? They must has a list of rooms that they need to do each day. If we are running behind in the morning will housekeeping close up the sofa beds for us? How much would you tip housekeeping cleaning a 2 bedroom villas? (no kitchen messes, etc)

BarbaraMB- yes, as a cash reservation at the villas you do recieve daily housekeeping. My hubby and I stayed at BWV-1 BR last spring and it was wonderful! Yes, they will close up the sofa bed in the living room if you don't get to it. Our mousekeepers were great. We tipped five dollars per day for the two of us....we didn't really have much of a mess but felt that was an appropriate amount.

Wherre do I find that cool countdown clock?

Thanks all for the good feedback. I'm sure that BCV will not dissapoint! - Steve

Princess Angel - Please give us a trip report when you come back!!! If it is possible for you to post some pictures that would be just great. Have a wonderful time!!!!!!!!

yup, BarbaraMB, I will post a report when I return! ofcourse!
and as soon as I figure out how to use my scanner... I'll post pics too!
maybe I'll look at that right now..... (I have only had it for 14 months!) :)

Laura :)

You will love the BCV very easy to access everything. The countdown clock's are located on the technical board, hope this helps.

We are DVC members with ownership at both OKW and BCV. We love the location of the BCV, that to us is it strongest point. However, we prefer the rooms at OKW as you will find that the living room at BCV is considerably smaller. With just the two of us we prefer BCV, with family and extended family we prefer OKW.

Thanks JR....lets see if it works.

We are less concerned with space on this visit as we are travleling alone! -Steve

How cool...looks like you'll be there the same time we were there last fall. We checked in last Sept on 9/29 for 5 nights. We absolutely loved it. We also drove in. Since we rented points from a DVC owner we were able to valet park for free which we took advantage of. However, the last night we were there we drove to the Contemporary for Chef Mickey's and just did self parking so we could load it up the next day prior to leaving. Parking was very convenient and close.

You will love this time of year. Everything a walk on. Pool traffic extremely light. Lovely weather. Have fun.

We will be arriving 6 days after you on Oct 3rd. (I am also going to be there in March and May). I was there last year at the same time as VickiVM, this is our absolute favorite resort. The immediate surronding area of the BCV is quiet and peaceful, but within 5 minute walking distance you can get to sooo much. You can walk to Epcot - 5 mins, the Boardwalk - 5 mins or MGM - 20 minutes or you can take a nice boat ride over to MGM.

As far as parking goes, it is a hotel type resort, so you can't park right in front of your villa like at OKW which is more like condos, but the parking lot is really close to the villas so it shouldn't be a problem.

I think you will love the BCVs.

Terry S,

It looks like you will be there exactly when we will be there (both May and Oct), we were also there last year from 9-27 to 10-6 in a 2 bedroom. It is sort of funny to see that you are on the same vacation schedule that we are, I see you are going down in March we originally looked at that time but instead went over Thanksgiving last year.

I hope you have a great time and maybe we will run into you sometime at home.

We love BCV too and have no regrets about owning there. But if you are interested in convenience to Epcot AND MGM, then BWV is a better location. It is a significantly shorter walk to MGM from BWV than from BCV, and it's only slightly farther from Epcot.

Actually I think MGM transportation is the Achilles heel of the Epcot resorts. There is no bus service. The walk is quite a hike from some of the resorts and not a good option in many cases (young children, rainy day, very hot day). The boat is notoriously slow, especially if you have to wait for one. I don't even want to think about trying to catch a boat back after Fantasmic!

We drive our rental car to MGM. It's a three minute drive from any Epcot resort.

Wow! Great feedback. My wife and I are excited for sure. We are starting to get a feel for the World. Our recent trips included our two very young children (currently 2 and 3). It was alot of work! We decided to go ahead and make this trip for the two of us befor the kids are old enough to hold a grudge! It is amazing how having children opens your eyes and mind. Suddenly a trip to Disney - just the two of us - is more awesome then our honeymoon!.....Can't wait - Steve
