This will be our 7th trip to Disney world, and our first stay at the Beach Club Villas. We stayed at WDW Swan, but it was several years ago. I remember walking to EPCOT and we would pass right in front of the BCV, so I know about the walk from there to EPCOT. I have read in some books that it is also possible to walk to MGM Studios as well, but I'm not sure if that is true, and if so, how long of a walk is it? We will be traveling with two kids (4 and 10) so a long walk outside the parks may not be a good idea. There is a boat that takes you from the resort to MGM, but at times that can be pretty full, so I was wondering about the walk. Thanks in advance to for any info. BTW we are traveling to WDW in May.

We loved the walk to MGM. So did the kids, got to see the ducks, fish birds...etc. It is about 15-20min walk at a slow pace. And 5 min to epcot:thumbsup2

You could walk to either Epcot is very close to walk to Hollywood studios (Formerly MGM) I'm not sure how long the walk was but I'm sure it's possible but don't forget you can take the water taxi to either Epcot or MGM from BCV! I dont think it is worth it to epcot by the time you board and stop at the boardwalk it didn't make sense to me that is how close Epcot is like I would say 5 min walk tops! Mgm we never walked we took the water taxi I would say it took anywhere from 10-15min because it stops at the boardwalk then the SWAN/DOLPHIN then MGM!

If you are concerned about long walks for your kids, you should consider taking the water taxi to DHS. No sense in getting them tired of walking before you even get there.

We love the BCV - I think you will too!
The walk to Epcot is minimal - 7 minutes from our Villa to the IG (International Gateway) surely quicker than walking to the boat dock, waiting for the boat and the ride.
There is a nice walkway to the Disney Hollywood Studios - but it is much longer from the BCV. You will have to decide what you want to do. We have walked to the Studios from BCV - it is a 20 - 25 minute walk. We have also taken the boat. I think it is about the same time.
We enjoy the walk to the Studios if it is not too hot. It is a really pleasant walkway along the canal, mostly shaded. We take it at a leisurely pace and enjoy ourselves.
If it is really hot, or you are really tired, take the boat. However you will have to wait for the boat and the trip is relatively slow. This is a great area for convenience.
Have a great trip.

Love the Epcot resorts especially BWV, the boardwalk views there are the best in Disney IMHO.

Just thread I was looking for. I will be staying at the Y&B resort in April from 04/02-04/05 and I was wondering if you could walk from Y&B to Epcot AND Disney Hollywood Studios.

I am there with work and have two free afternoons, pretty much Noon-5pm, and was looking at visiting DHS and/or Epcot on those days as those parks seem to be the shortest trips. I was wondering if walking was the best option.

:cool2:

As several previous posts in this thread have indicated, both the Yacht Club and the Beach Club are within easy walking distance of Epcot and DHS. At an adult walking pace, the IG entrance to Epcot is 5 minutes and the walk to DHS is about 15 minutes. Walking to Epcot is definitely much faster than the boat. Walking to DHS is probably also faster than the boat (once wait times and times for stops at the other resorts are factored in), unless you happen to arrive at the boat dock at the exact moment the boat is leaving, in which case it is probably a toss up.

we did that just for the sake of arguement our last trip, from MGM DW, and DS took the boat and Myself and DS started to walk when the boat took off. We beat the boat handedly! Just at a normal walking pace I mind you. We always walk it, it is just much more enjoyable for us.

I totally agree! We have done the walk many times and we have kids the same age as the OP.
