Hi. My family and I have reservations for the BCV in June. I am looking for advice as far as a room request goes. We do not want to look at streets or parking lots. We prefer looking at people/activity type sights, so a view overlooking a walkway, pool, courtyard, the path to Epcot, etc. is preferable. Does anyone know of a particular type of room that I should request in a particular part of the resort?

Wow! That was really helpful. I don't think I could have been given a better guide. Thank you!

Pool view is your safest bet. The other views could be anything.

Pool view has the issue of lights at night. We are checking out of BCV tomorrow & have a courtyard view on the 2nd floor. It has been very nice. BTW...I requested a woods view, 3rd floor or higher. :rotfl: Good news is that we did get in our room about 11am. Don't get your heart set on your request!

The more specific you are with your requests, the less likely you are to get it. Be generic in your request, high floor, wooded view, garden view, pool view.

Don't get your heart set on a request at BCV.
In fact, I think that applies to all DVC.

I think Pool or Courtyard would be the safest bets here. If you request Epcot view, well that includes roadway, trees, and not a whole lot of Epcot.

We lucked in to an Epcot view this last summer, for the first time, after requesting Highest Floor. Of course, the room was also H/A, which we didn't need. We lived with it though rather than trying to change rooms.

Lots of people get hung up on the request and when they aren't granted it turns nasty at the check in desk, we see it every trip.
So just remember, a request is just that.

I am no BCV expert, but you may want to check out the below website for great BCV maps. Those may help you with your decision.

Based on what is on this web-site it looks like 4th floor EPCOT views might be better than 5th floor. We're in a studio and, I believe, in a view facing EPCOT. Last time we stayed we had a wonderful view of both illuminations and wishes (It would be great if I could remember the room number!!!)
Any suggestions?
I'm not looking for specific room number (I agree that requests shouldn't be too specific- but, a general area or floor would be helpful).

We request upper floor, Epcot view. But you won't see many people from that side. It sounds like you may be more of the "pool view" type! :)

We had requested a ground floor, close to lobby room. We got exactly that--Room 101. Some people would say that it would not be a good room because it is the closest to the front of the Beach Club--not true! It was very quiet and we loved our courtyard view--it was so pretty. My mom loved sitting out on the patio in the morning to people watch. She never saw anyone all week outside on their patios. Hope this helps.

If you don't want cars and roadway, you don't want to face Epcot Resorts Blvd. As previously stated though, that is the same view that will give you the partial Epcot view (i.e. top of Planet Earth, some fireworks at night). I wonder if it's more effective to request what you'd like or what you don't like? Hmmm...
