Thanks

I've had 2 recent studio stays at BCV, one in May and the last in September. Storm along Bay, the feature pool is wonderful, a mini-waterpark, and I'm an adult who feels like a kid when I'm swimming in the lazy river part. The villa pool is nice and usually not very crowded. There's a dune area with a picnic table and barbecue grill that looks very inviting, but we haven't used it.

Our studios have always been well maintained, and once we had a huge balcony that faced the wooded area. In September, I had a first floor studio facing the road, but it was near the elevator and very close to the exit for the villa pool. I thought it would be a terrible location, with noisy people coming to/from elevator, road noise, but no, never was there anything like that. I'm not the best sleeper, but nothing bothered me either going to sleep or during the night. I enjoy sitting on the balcony/patio, and the road didn't bother me either. The bushes and landscaping are very nice. There's a canal bridge on property and you can see many turtles, fish, yes, at least one snake, and it's so restful to gaze in the tranquil waters.

We are the DGP of the family and the family will be staying there for their first time in November. I can't wait to see everyone there! Plan to take a picture of the family by Ariel's statue, it's a must do!

I enjoy the salads and the chowder in the Marketplace, and the deserts that they feature will tempt anyone!

Enjoy your stay! They have movies on the beach and a campfire beforehand. They used to have morning yoga, but not in September, maybe it will be something they get back.

We just returned from a stay in a studio. We were there October 6-13. I have to agree with everything bobbiwoz says. It's just DH, DD9 and myself, but we usually get a 1 bedroom because we like the extra room and the jacuzzi tub. This time around we got a studio to conserve points for next year. The unit was in good repair, and the staff was accommodating. I called housekeeping for extra pillows and they arrived in 10 minutes. Check-in was a breeze and the CM that helped us was very friendly and pleasant. Our villa was ready by about 1:30 in the afternoon which was great. They called us, and we missed the call because we had lunch by the pool and were already in SAB, so when I picked up the message I went in and got our keys and our luggage followed me up and that was that.

The pool is unbelievable--it is like a mini water park. Some people have trouble with it because it is so spread out, but we have always embraced its diverse features. I never get bored at that pool and can spend the whole day there, swimming, having lunch and a frozen rum drink. If I could only get my DH and DD to stay out of the parks for a whole day!

We love it there and always try to stay there whenever we go. We have brought non-DVC family to stay at BCV and they have been blown away by the pool, the location and the whole atmosphere. It is very festive--not in a holiday sort of way, but it bustles with activity and there are often games and so forth going on in the lobby--just a fun place to be.

They have some varied food options: Beaches 'n Cream which is like an old-fashioned soda fountain, Hurricane Hanna's at the pool, the Marketplace for take-away food and also the Cape May cafe which has a nice character breakfast in the morning and a New England Clam Bake for dinner (never done that). There are other Dining options and entertainment at the Boardwalk, which is also great fun for a night's activities.

Most of all, I love that you can walk to Epcot and take the boat to Disney Hollywood studios. It makes quick hops over to those two places quite easy and since Epcot is my favorite park we go in and out of there all the time.

It sounds so corny, but my DD9 says she feels like it is her home away from home. We just have the warm fuzzies when we are there. We believe in the "buy where you want to stay" mantra, so we own there. If we could possibly swing it, we would never stay anywhere else.

Take that picture of your family next to the Ariel statue--we have done that every year for five years, it's like a tradition.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

where are the one bedroom villas located...are they close to the SAB? Is it easier to stay in a standard room are you closer to the action? Can you get a gallon of milk anywhere for cereal? Any section to request? I have two adults, 12 and 9 year old. Thanks

The one bedroom villas are part of the DVC building. Typically, you are a DVC member or member guest when you stay there, but you can rent them from Disney and you can also rent points or a reservation from a member, which is a whole other discussion. You can do a search regarding point rentals as there has been much discussion on the topic.

The DVC building is set back and to the left of the main Beach Club Hotel (when looking at the hotel from the front). None of the DVC villas are "close" to SAB, but you aren't far either--maybe a five minute walk.

The Marketplace sells the basics like bread, milk, eggs, cereal, and other quick-food items.

Before we were DVC members we stayed at the Beach/Yacht Club Hotel many times. We always got a standard room that were sometimes closer to the pool. You aren't really out of the "Action" in the Villas, but you won't get a view of the lake or SAB from there. If you want to have that type of view, you are better off to stay with a regular hotel room. I know the hotel also has suites, in the event you are looking for something more elaborate.
