Beach Club Villa - Studio Lock-out or Dedicated?

Which option would be best for a Studio room - Dedicated or Lock-out? Or, does it matter? Thanks and Go Vols!

A dedicated does not have a door that connects it to a one bedroom, thus a little less noise at times. A lockoff connects to a one bedroom to make a two bedroom.

It really doesn't matter, there is no difference in the rooms whatsoever, it is just that one has a door that would open to the 1BR next door and the dedicated does not. You probably will not have a choice anyways when you arrive. It is just like a hotel with connecting rooms when you do not unlock the door to "connect" with the room next door.

The connecting door is in the foyer so the noise isn't even much of an issue. You might get an extra closet in that spot but I'm not sure (you do in the 1 b/r dedicated). Either way I wouldn't worry about it, keep in mind there are more lock-off rooms so your odds are higher of getting one. Hope you have a great trip! :)

I was told that if you get a dedicated studio that you would gain a closet where the door to the one-bedroom villa would be on a lock-out studio. Unfortunately, we did not get an extra closet and we had a dedicated studio villa this Feb. when we visited. I just brought extra hangers with because the one closet we did have in the studio was big, but there were only about six hangers in it. With my extra hangers, we were set. Our family of four stayed nine days in Feb. so with all our clothes and our extra hangers, we filled the closet! :thumbsup2

I don't think that's correct for a studio. You get an extra closet when you are in the second bedroom of a dedicated 2 bedroom at OKW, I'm not sure about the others (BW has no dedicated 2 bedrooms).

I wish I was incorrect because the extra closet would have been nice. When I made our reservation for the BCV studio I requested a dedicated unit which is what we received. My friend who is a DVC member told us that he thought the dedicated studio's at the BCV offered an extra closet where the door would be to the one bedroom villa in a lock-out studio. Instead, we got a small alcove next to our kitchenette which was nice to keep our empty luggage in. Maybe some of the dedicated studio villas in other Disney resorts have the extra closet, but I know we didn't at the BCV.

P.S. The orginal poster of this thread was asking only about the Beach Club Villa's studio. You may have missed that - no biggie :-).

Do the lock-out studios share their balconies or are they private?

Thanks,

Jennifer
