Hi all!!
We are staying at BC 8/19-26th. It will be myself, DH, and DD's ages 6, 7 and 8. We are SOOO excited but curious how the transportation to Magic Kingdom is? How long is the bus ride? I know this will be my girls favorite park so I am just looking for some experienced BC guests to give me an idea :) thanks a bunch, this is my girls 1st trip!!!!!!

I didn't time it, but the bus transp. seemed fine to me. Wasn't so long. 15 min?

It's not bad at all since it only shares with the YC. YC will get on first, then BC then on to MK. I would say 15 minutes tops, not including how long you wait for a bus to arrive.

I'd say 10-15 minutes. Plus the wait for the bus.

Another option, if you're ambitious, maybe for an evening MK visit, is to hop on the monorail after spending some time at - or just walking through - Epcot. A lot longer, but sort of fun for the kids, big and small.

Cheers,

The one time we timed the ride it was 12 minutes. As others have said, this does not include the wait time for the bus. When we have used the bus to MK early in the morning, the wait was always less than 5 minutes.

How did I know that you would know the EXACT answer to this!! :rotfl: This is why you are our threadkeeper!!! :goodvibes

Things could have changed and it may depend on the time of year, but when we stayed at the BC, it took forever to get anywhere by bus. The BC shared with YC, BWI, Swan, & Dolphin and the buses were always full by the time they got the BC as it was standing room only if we wanted to get on the bus. With that said, the BC is a great resort and the bus transportation wouldn't deter us from staying there again, but we would just be more prepared as far as transportation is concerned ;).

The five Epcot resorts do share buses, but usually only during off-peak hours of the day.

During peak times (in the morning getting to the parks and in the evening returning from the parks), it is almost always just YC and BC that share a bus.

When we stayed there the bus ride to MK was about 15 minutes, and we usually had a wait of about 10 minutes for the bus to pick us up.

YC & BC have their own bus to MK, always.
They do share with BWI, Swan and Dolphin to DTD/Typhoon Lagoon.
In off peak times, they share with BWI, Swan & Dolphin to AK/Blizzard Beach

That was my experience with the buses as well. They were always full, and getting to AK or MK was not fast, to say the least. We actually time one trip to MK, and it was 40 minutes from boarding the bus to the gates of MK. Had the same experience at night leaving AK.

Like I said, it could have changed because our stay was during a fairly busy time and the buses were always full no matter where it went and it wasn't just the YC & BC, it was all 5 resorts.

YC & BC have their own bus to MK, always.

Not during our stay. No matter which park we went to (including MK) the buses were shared for YC/BC/BWI/Swan/Dolpin and were always full by the time they got to the BC.

We never timed it, but it took forever to get anywhere for us too......and the buses were always packed by the time they got to the BC to pick up. Plus BC was always the last dropped off.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it- getting to AK and DTD are a pain from any of the resorts over there simply because of the amount of stops it has to make. We have had it take 50 minutes to get from the DTD Marketplace to BWI when we have walked right onto a waiting bus. But honestly getting to DTD from ANY Disney resort is no cake walk. We rely solely on cabs to DTD now (and usually back from AK when we leave midday).

But as for MK, its not like that anymore. I have stayed at YC, BC and BWI 3 separate times since Nov 2010, so my experience is recent :) If going to the MK you happen to stop at a resort besides YC or BC, then perhaps your bus originated from say, AK, where it needs to make the loop to all 5 resorts to drop off anyone who got on at AK before proceeding. (And even this shouldn't happen in the AM rush). But leaving the MK, it won't happen. YC/BC has a line and BWI/Swan/Dolphin have a line.

During the main course of the day the traffic to and from MK/BC is light. The buses will be spaced out, so the amount of wait time will be really impacted by when you arrive at the bus depot. Management of Disney Transportation from our experience typically don't juggle the schedule that much after they get the day started, until closing times.

In our personal experience, the BC can become a very unmagical morning during the early morning openings of MK. Buses fill up very quickly. Many will drive by since they are already full from the previous stop(s). Really no management intervention from the BC. A driver may make a call. When a special bus just for the BC to correct the situation arrives, forget about the line. People who just got to the bus depot will shove their way on the bus infront of other who have been waiting 20-40 minutes. The bus will fill up and still leave people. Great location for Epcot and DHS. If getting to MK at a specific time is important get a rental car or take a taxi.

This is really good news. A few years ago it took us much longer than that to get to the MK. :goodvibes

Not during our stays to the BWV...

The BC bus to the MK was also shared with BW, Swan, and Dolphin guests as well as YC...all 5 Epcot Resorts share a bus there.

we have stayed at the BCV a few times and the bus ride to MK has never been more than 15 minutes. As some have mentioned, the walk to the Monorail through EPCOT is a fun option. Our kids especially love stopping by UK and Canada on the way and picking up some sweets. And vice versa, taking the Monorail from MK to EPCOT is a cool ride - ask them to seat you in the very front Monorail car - this is a magical experience for the kids.

Keep in mind this is only an option if you have a park hopper pass. If you try it with a base ticket, you will burn a day off of your ticket, and have to stay in Epcot.

They no longer allow guests to sit in the front of the monorail car.

We always have a car so I am very spoiled, but the one trip my daughter and I took alone we didn't rent a car. We stayed at the BC club level and we found the bus service to be awful. We were always waiting forever for a bus to the MK and then when it came it was packed. We finally walked though Epcot and took the monorail. We also ended up using cabs some nights. I talked to one of the managers at the BC and she told me that they were looking into this as other people were complaining too. There is just too many resorts using the same buses. This was a couple of years ago so things may have changed. I hope so. Going to the AK and DTD were a pain too.

Enjoy The Magic!!
