What is the room size when comparing studio to a standard room at Beach Club ...can get studio for about 8 hundred dollars less. Would we be comfortable...two adults and two kids? Is there a safe in the studio how about housekeeping and plates or cereal bowls? Is the location good...where to request for a studio? I am tempted to save the money. Is is possible to rent a cot if sleeping gets uncomfortable? Thanks

A studio will have one queen sized bed and one double sleeper sofa. A standard rooms at BC should have two queen sized beds, but I have heard that some rooms have double beds. Some of the rooms at BC may have a day bed.

You'd get paper bowls and plates, along with plastic ware for spoons, forks and knives.

DVC doesn't provide any cots or rollaways.

BCV doesn't really have much of a view because it was tucked in behind the BC and the parking lot.

BCV has wall safes.

if you are renting from a member - then no houskeeping (unless you want to pay for it)

if you are renting from Disney - then housekeeping is included.

Also, availability at the Villas will be pretty tight five months out - where you can more easily get reservations right up to your travel date at the BC.

Another big thing on renting points will be cancellation policies. If you choose to rent points, read all the stickies carefully - rental is a private agreement between you and the owner. Some owners see the rental as a final transaction - if you cancel - too bad. You'll have very standard policies if you rent through Disney - and Disney to stand behind them.

do you think it would be worth it to take the studio and save some money to be onsite at the Beach Club. Is the studio larger?

I don't think its larger. It does have a kitchenette. Only you can judge what value means to you. (I wouldn't rent from a stranger, but I'm conservative that way, the risk is not worth the money to me - which is why I own - I don't buy things on eBay either - LOTS of people have rented and been very happy with both the accomodations and the savings).

We (DH, DS8 & I) just stayed in a studio for the first time, and I was worried it would be too small. Not an issue at all. The bed and pullout were both comfortable, I often ended up in the pullout with my son to start out, then moved in the middle of the night. There are real glasses and mugs, coated paper bowls & plates. Toaster, microwave, and under counter frige. Some of the studios have an epcot view, where you can see the WS high fireworks each night. Those are a pretty good walk from the main building. For us, having the actual couch to sit on, the coffee table for games, the savings and convenience of pop-tarts, toast, etc., and freezing water bottles to take with flavor packets into the parks was fantastic. You have to make your own choices, as we all do, but for my money - I'd save the $800 and spend it on something more valuable to my family than the room - like a fireworks cruise, or charter fishing boat, or extra character meals, or extra souvenirs from World of Disney, or... Oh, I could go on and on! :rotfl:
