Beach club slide refurb

I just saw on the dvc site that the slide is going down for a refurb in February. Have I been missing this? I’ve been piecing together a trip for April there and haven’t noticed it before. Can’t seem to find out how long it will be down for. Anyone?

You didn't miss it - this was a short-notice refurb project. The note showed up on the website on/around 2/10 and the slide closed 2/16. Unfortunately Disney has not indicated how long the closure will be for - just "before long the waterslide will be back....."

Often slide closures around the resorts are for 1-2'ish months as they are typically for patching seams (which I hope they do here, those seams on the long part HURT), painting, and other misc. work - but of course since we don't really know the nature of the planned work it's hard to estimate when it will reopen, in my opinion.

But I hope it does reopen before your April trip!

We will also be staying there in April and I hope it’s open by then. I was so excited when our waitlist came through. We’ve trying to get a reservation there for a while.

Just wanted to let y’all know that per a report from yesterday on the YC/BC thread on the Resorts Board, the slide has reopened. Disney has also removed the slide closure info from their website. Whatever they did, this appears to have been a very short project.

Great news! Thanks so much for the update! Didn’t even realize the message had been taken down. Really happy I didn’t try to switch some of our days to poly like I was considering.

I just looked on the Disney website and the announcement is still on the yacht club main page.

I oddly enough was still seeing it after you said that last night. Checked again this morning and it was gone. Thinking maybe my page needed to be refreshed or something idk.
